mizfit
Sounds like everything will be held off till schools are back, I reckon we would see changes being announced for or on the 20th August. Not great for those still closed, and again I question the motives for reopening indoor hospitality before other sectors that are, in probable reality, going to be safer and better at following guidance. Fed up with those moaning about quarantining from Spain. It was said it would be a risk to go abroad, but it’s the very entitled attitude of “I’ve got to on my holidays” that we have here. These folk need to take some personal responsibility.Because such a big deal was made over schools going back they’ve made sacrifices to get them back. I want us to rush and get back to normal as much as the next man but I’ll accept a delay to get schools on again. And your point on holidays I agree, I’d love to have been away sunning it up but I’ll stay at home for now to be safe.

So much then for government policy being led solely by The Science that brought us that four-stage exit strategy: now it's just a pick and mix of whatever measures they can do to get fuming parents off their backs. If it is 'safe' to chuck up to 1000 filthy weans and dozens of adult staff into a glorified shed for 35 hours per week then it is quite clearly safe enough to open a gym and to let two men and a dug into a Stranraer game at the same time.

Can we go back to the early days of pretending it was the world cup?f**k it ill start Well done to the USA on a truly stunning performance, it’s a tribute to their truly world class manager to get such a disconnected bunch performing together like that.Back in blighty it looks like boris is losing the dressing room as Englands dissapoint yet again

So that's resulted in some people's covid payments being more than their job was paying them. Great stuff. Don't know if it varies state to state but folk I know in America are getting $1000 UBI not nearly enough but if you had told me America under trump would be the first country to try UBI I wouldn't have believed you.

Exactly. I'm sure it does vary state to state. $600 is going to go a lot further in Alabama than New York. I did enjoy that they've basically brought in UBI but completely fucked it up due to incompetence as well. I think Bernie was pushing to double it which seems far more reasonable but like you say outside the majority of cities it's a nice bonus inside the more swanky cities it wont make a dent.

And don't give the exercise at home pish, resistance training isn't available at home to most I literally just googled "resistance training at home" and got umpteen results back with suitable resistance training that you can do at home. I concede it's not ideal and not your normal work-out, but I just can't accept that training at home or outside doesn't give you mental health benefits and it MUST be done in a gym. That said, I fail to see why gyms can't be operating a limited number of people with cleaning sessions in between work-outs right now.

Aye, just punt any clown sitting at a machine, scrolling on their phone, rather than using said machine. That will keep the numbers in each gym sufficiently low and socially distanced.

101
No chance pure gym should re open anytime soon unless they totally change how their gyms operate - wiping your equipment down with your sweaty towel is pretty gross at the best of times and completely ridiculous during a pandemic.
