Confusion - Motherwell players traveling to their match with Celtic in separate cars, 35 in all.

Is there really any confusion though, or is it blown out of proportion?

As far as I can tell, close contact of the positive case only have to test and release unless they live together.

Scottish football in its eternal quest to be tinpot, has just made this more complicated than it is.

Not surprisingly the booking system has a massive queue. I live in England so may be a different experience.

My GP surgery put out a statement saying they're trying to source more vaccine and that they'll update when they can. No walk in boosters are available here now either. Not a great start for the impossible deadline, then.

Yesterday the 29th of December was showing as the earliest day for a booster and kicking myself a bit that I didn't just do it for then and get it over with. Though the guidance on the NHS website didn't include my age group, it would allow a booking when the date of birth was put in.

I am not totally sold on the booster, ro.be honest, and am pretty annoyed about having to go and get one. Well I know I don't *have to*, but I've got holidays booked and will almost certainly find these rendered unviable if I don't get the booster. This of course supposes that the Johnson doesn't decide that we need to.more heavily restrict travel again at the drop of a hat.

The shifting of the goalposts with vaccines has seriously pissed me off and frankly it's becoming tiresome being trapped in a seemingly perennial vaccination cycle with numerous threats of restrictions if enough people don't get their vaccines. It's beyond tedious now.

The booster programme has been quite advanced for the groups that are actually at high risk of the virus and this new plan leaves me feeling a bit weird. It wasn't so long ago that 50+ were called and the 40+ age group were very recent as well. There must be a lot of unboosted 50-59 year old and I feel uncomfortable as a low risk individual that I'm being put on par with them. Very much a case here of sod the stragglers, which I do get, but it shows (IMO) poor prioritisation.

Which brings us to delivery. The mass vaccination sites have closed and I can't see how they're going to set them up again. There are 19 days left in 2021 and two of those are national holidays.

There is absolutely no fucking way this can be achieved. And of course any of the 50k people a day tht catch covid during this time, a large number of whom will be unboostered, won't be getting it. So there's already a gap in the ballpark of 500-750k. The gap between two doses and the third dose currently stands at twenty three and a half million.

Going by social media this evening, it would seem that this sweeping promise about boosters being accelerated has come as a surprise to the NHS and anyone involved in the vaccination programme.

Elixir, look i agree with you on the shite handling of things by scotgov etc but the sexist comments are pretty poor man.

On to the booster announcements, I dont see why people have an issue with this, it is pretty clear from the data from several sources that this booster dose is important, we’ve known that for a while even before Omicron. Personally think we need a massive effort here, I dont buy the January deadline, maybe mid Jan? But they need to do better than previous, that involves Scotgov needing to apply a bit of common sense around opening times, locations and how they get it done. We cant have the sorts of days we saw during the initial roll out with shite numbers or vaccine centres shut etc, this needs a massive concerted effort.
I am still skeptical around the fearmongering around Omicron, but ultimately if its a weaker strain and hammering it for a few weeks gets us to the end of this shite then lets just do it.

Absolute bollox.
Nice attempt to misrepresent what actually happened though.
Wandering onto a thread you're not interested in and dishing out abuse to those who are chatting on that thread without having the courage to put out your own opinion and then taking offense when you get slapped down for doing so is the behaviour of a bellend.
You're in good company though.
I would suggest she's an actual woman who is working in the NHS. You are f**k all

He's f**king serious isn't he and completely out of touch with the reality of the effect increasing restrictions would have on those right on the cliff edge. A bit f***ing more than just anxiety you galloping knobend.

Mr Swinney adds the government is still looking at whether or not to tighten up the coronavirus restrictions, which could range from expanding the vaccine certification scheme to introducing more lockdown measures.

He added: “I am very sorry about the anxiety people face and I wish I could take it away.

“But unfortunately Omicron is literally galloping through Scotland.

Schools staying open btw

No idea what he's hoping to achieve here but its nothing to do with slowing down Omicron.

He’s trying to cement his place as the baldiest, specciest tube in the history of the world.

He’s acing it tbf.

Bad times when I don't want to kick my tele in after watching Johnson on the tele, unlike when I watched NS the other day.

'Get injected ya c***s' is the message she should have delivered as well.

It's just diversion tactics from the chief liar at the moment, anything and everything to sound serious about a subject he couldn't give a f**k about.

My own GPS practice in Greater Manchester put this on Facebook in the last hour.

I'm not getting a booster at this point in time. The first two doses left me in bed for a week each time.

I can't afford, at the moment be off work. I know it's a different one you get but for now, I'm not having it.

Cuddy tossing a wee Sunday night ģrenade in there.

with regards to the alleged party's last year, whats the betting that by this time last year,  government staff at downing street and whitehall were all getting daily PCR tests & instant results and were therefor exempt from group limits and social distancing requirements similar to football players and certain other industries? . for example, when close contact services like barbers were closed to the likes of you & I, TV presenters were still appearing on our screens with their hair & make up done. Perhaps boris just isnt old school tory enough to say " Well the thing you little people have to understand is, we were allowed to have these gatherings under our exemption, it was just the public who were banned from socialising"

Probably realised the chances of contracting Covid and becoming seriously unwell at their age was miniscule. 🤷

What's the most obnoxious opinion I can have here? Refusing a booster because I believe it should go to poorer countries seems the most morally righteous but potentially annoying take to have. Adopting that from now on.

Needs a selfie of you with a bemused health worker in the background with the caption "Asked them to send my booster to starving kids in Africa. #BeCovidKind" IMO.

Is it possible that BJ et al have been listening to reports from S.A. about the severity of infections, and are deciding to accelerate the vaccine roll out as a way of stepping back from the initial fear they created, whilst also helping to boost vaccine coverage?

I just can't see how, if there was genuine concern over it, that they wouldn't actually do anything.
