Would have been easy for the JRG to brief against the story.

That's despite them appearing to plummet. Agree we can't trust the accuracy of indivudual daily figues. Much better to look at 7 day trends as an example. Numbers are falling as you suggest. Standard chat from that gormless buffoon the day before a restrictions review. I think she’ll either extend the restrictions or maybe increase capacity % at the bigger grounds. She’ll not want to move much closer to England’s policy and too far away from Wales’ current world class level of bed shiteing.

Putting on my ex-civil servant hat...there isn't anything else he could have said. He couldn't come out and say "We made a mistake. They should be rolled back." That's for the politicians to say. Civil servants are very restricted in what they can say. In private he could be arguing for things to be relaxed, but when the decision is made he has to hit the media and give the official line. I doubt he is, but it is possible.

Why not compare the entire tax burden including equivalents of income tax, national insurance and local taxes? Aye I’m no saying you’re wrong, just it would have been nice for them to pour a bit of cold water on it if it was still undecided. Get the pressure argument but not sure the SPFL will ever be able to apply enough pressure to the government to influence them.
anotherchance
Given the ICU numbers and trends, justifying restrictions by “spreading the intensive care cases out over a longer period” is an absolute pearler.

Todd_is_God
I'll save my head's gone for tomorrow, but the comments about football crowds, the whisky festival I was going to on the 22nd being postponed on Friday, and Leitch's recent mewlings about restrictions working give me a very strong feeling about what is going to be announced.
the snudge
Dreading the announcement tomorrow. I think NS will stick to her guns especially with the Leitch comments today.

There is simply no justification for keeping anything restricted any longer, and as far as I can tell, no money to keep restrictions in any case.
