Do you care what actual, working people in GP practices are saying?

Are we not allowed opinions or to challenge it?   I do not disbelieve anything what Tynierose has posted and they're working their arse off, but neither do I accept that opening a GP surgery on a Sunday is something that is impossible to achieve.

And why would you focus any of that on GP surgeries, rather than on to the mass vaccination centres?

Pushing all new capacity into the mass vaccination centres is a better idea than putting some of it into GP surgeries.

If that is what is happening and will get rid of the Sunday lag then brilliant, it's all about vaccinating as many people as possible as quickly as possible.

If you don't disbelieve what Tynie says, which is "we don't have the capacity to do more" then why do you keep asking "Why can we not increase the capacity?"?

I've answered it.  Are you just going to keep nipping away?

Todays summary     As usual on a Monday I will do a one week update.  After Scotgov kicking the Lockdown Can a further 2 weeks down the road it is prudent to see if there should be real pressure to timetable lifting restrictions next week.  Clearly this metric is just about infections reported per 100K in the latest 7 day period. I think it is very useful viewing 7 days of data so we can establish good or bad performance in each council area.

What is going on in Falkirk & Clacks ?

Home nations first: England 309.5 to 233.2 have dropped 24.65% in last week (Follows 29% previous week).  Wales 162.2 to 126.5 have dropped 22.01% in last week (Follows 38% previous week), Northern Ireland 235.3 to 184.8 have dropped 21.46% in last week (Follows 27% previous week).

Scotland peaked at 301.9 for figures 29th Dec to 4th Jan

From 23rd to 29th January reported this time last week in Scotland we were down to 136.2

Yesterdays figure 29th Jan to 4th Feb Jan was 118.3

Todays figure for 30th Jan to 5th Feb is 118.1   A tiny drop of 0.17% Infections have dropped every day (now 32 days in a row) since the aforementioned peak.  Total drop is now 60.88%

The drop from This time last week from 136.2 to 118.1 is  13.29%   (Last weeks was over 23%).   Clearly the rest of the UK who lagged behind Scotland in infections dropping have now accelerated  past us in speed of reduction..

Council progress in last 7 Days as follows.

I just edited my post to add a bit in about winter.
Tbh I don't think that should be entertained. What happens then, if they remain low? Do the goal posts move to "we don't know how long the vaccine offers protection for?" and we go round in circles again?
Absolutely not that has to be it.

Not guilty but the overall direction of travel is still excellent despite Falkirk showing Ray McKinnon era form

I think sooner or later there will have to be an acceptance of the situation and I don't just mean us I mean a global coordinated acceptance.

There's no doubt that many of us on here like to slag off the SG and even the UK Gov for some of the their decisions / lack of decisions (and rightly so for many of them), however we really need to appreciate that virtually all Governments are following if not the exact same, certainly pretty similar advice from the various scientists and public health experts throughout the western world.

All that said, we simply can't go on like this indefinitely and if these vaccines are proven in cutting serious illness and death to levels which we can cope (acceptable is the wrong word), then sooner or later the Economic and  Business case will need to be heard and heard by everyone.

Yes, there will likely be dissent from certain public health officials and advisors but ultimately no country or indeed civilisation can continue this stuck in limbo / life on hold indefinitely, quite simply that is NOT an option...

Welsh rock 'n' roller Shakin' Stevens had had his jab, saying it was "the first step to hope".

The Cardiff-born rock 'n' roller, 72, whose real name is Michael Barratt, was given his first dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on Sunday.

He described staff at the centre as "brilliant, absolutely brilliant".

"Shaky" had a string of number ones in the 1980s including This Ole House, Oh Julie and Merry Christmas Everyone.

He admitted to having a fear of needles, and said: "I was nervous before I got there, but I was very impressed."

Whilst I agree, the more we accept and normalise restrictions and goalpost shifting, I just don't see it working like that.

When you hear experts and advisors talk in a blasé fashion about distancing and masks being around for "years to come" because "they don't cost anything" it concerns me.

Whilst it is true that it doesn't cost money for me to stay 2m away from someone else, there are large parts of society that simply cannot operate under those conditions, and we can see this by the need for the furlough scheme. That is a huge cost.

At a more personal level, many of the things we all enjoy doing are not possible either, therefore what is the point?

It's been said before but im genuinely not sure what planet the people who say things like that live on, never mind how unaffected by what they are proposing they seem to be. It's extraordinary when you think about it.

What a party it was tho eh !, given how many naked burds were crammed into the living room & kitchen i'm not surprised to see so many cases.

Seriously tho, I've no idea. we got an email at work saying that the grangemouth community testing was open and it was opened in response to an already large outbreak in the area. perhaps this is just testing hoovering up all those said cases and with a bit of luck they'll all be isolating and it should come down pretty rapidly, that said Falkirk don't have a good track record of bouncing back from relegations in recent years
