Billy Jean King
nope. they were only including positive tests from NHS labs in their figures, not lighthouse labs.I thought he said it was hospital numbers it affected

The police's gormless insistence that 'but... we couldnae give fines to them all or we'd be still doing it now!' My first thought on hearing that was ...... and? Kettle them and fine every last one. Get maximum media coverage of them crying and snivelling as they wait to be processed. Pour encourager les autres.

Burnieman
Schools being back a couple of weeks completely coinciding with the first week on week Monday increase all year, and the 7 day average levelling off / ticking up, is entirely a coincidence i'm sure [emoji102]It levelled off at 800 for a couple of weeks before schools went back.
D.V.T.
Yeah, for hospitalisations. Case reporting in general not impacted was my understanding? That’s weird! Well hopefully hospitalisations will continue to fall after today.

That shouldn't be a particularly difficult concept to get one's head around.
Todd_is_God
Swinney laying the groundwork for blaming Rangers fans if the re-opening of the infection factories causes cases to increase. Schools all over the country packing kids into rooms? Not to blame. A few thousand people gathering outside on one weekend? To blame. That shouldn't be a particularly difficult concept to get one's head around. Except Rangers did say something, in Gerrards press conference for the broadcast media and the papers. Swinney has gotten just about every detail on this hilariously wrong. Saying that Rangers have an obligation to maintain public safety is probably the funniest of the lot.

Have any Tory MSPs said anything or are they in hiding?

There is absolutely nothing they could have done.

Far better indicator.

Didn't catch if anything was said about testing at NHS/Lighthouse Labs but Todd is right about it being the hospital numbers that are affected today. From the BBC coverage "The number of people in hospital who have tested positive with coronavirus is currently 654. That number is up by 26 but that is as a result of changes to the way cases are counted."

That shouldn't be a particularly difficult concept to get one's head around. Steven Gerrard on Friday asked fans to obey the rules. Telling people not to do something might make others aware of things and actually have the opposite effect. For example, NS telling people not to go to Blackpool to watch the OF game no doubt planted the seed into the minds of people who hadn't considered doing so until that point. Add in the fact you are talking about a support whos majority are the most Anti-SNP / SG in Scotland, then you are giving them an opportunity to "get it up wee nippy" by outright saying "please do as the SG ask" No point trying to apply rationale and logic to a group of people who are not the sharpest tools in the box. vikingTON
Is there any particular reason why Poindexter Swinney of all people is out today gormlessly trying to sell government policy? It's absurd to send that clown out to try and re-establish a strong public message. Edited March 8, 2021 by vikingTON
