Stoo61
Are United just going to limp slowly to the title, scraping points here n there? Might put a dampener on the party atmosphere.

Ayr23
Connor Malley was class when he came on. Good to see Shankland anonymous against us as usual. That's all I've got to say about that game.
AyrTroopMajor
That wasn't a game for the purists.Spent a fair bit of time in our own half in the 2nd half without ever looking in much danger. Good luck compiling highlights. Will not watch.
D'Jaffo
I thought everyone had a decent game tonight. Apart from McCowan that is. Kept trying and didn’t hide but one of those games where nothing he did came off for him.
THEHonestman1910
Thought that was Drinan's best match since he has came, not afraid to have a go. McCowan and Malley both anonymous tonight. Moffat looks like an impact sub player against tired defenses. Overall, a pretty enjoyable and good all round performance, just need a bit more quality up-front. rb123!
Good result, would have taken a point before the game, Muirhead worked well in midfield to break things up, actually better there than CB.Unlucky not to win it at the end, just lacking that killer finish at the top end of the pitch, too many times Drinan is isolated. No complaints though and roll on Saturday, would say we're in a good place atm. If we could get some of the crocks back that would be even better.

Agree, should have switched him to the left before taking him off IMO
diegomarahenry
Not sure if this is a poor result or not based on Dundee Uniteds recent form. Looked like Ayr were set up to punt high balls in the vague direction of Drinan and wait on the Dundee United centre halfs make an arse of the clearance, which to be fair, worked well. Dundee United look to play out from the back, but have no footballers apart from Smith in the back four and as we know, Smith has no final ball. Harkes is one of these players that looks flash but has no output. McMullen was a stand-out as usual but with only Shankland in front of him and Ayr playing three in the middle of defence, I don't think Doohan had a save to make all game. I can see why they have hit a sticky patch and why fans are getting a bit more vocal about the way the team is playing. Nothing broke for Ayr all night, McCowan was poor and should probably came off at half time, unfortunately, none of the replacements fared much better, maybe the pitch is to blame. A lot of wayward passes and bad decisions led to us only having maybe half a dozen long range efforts. Stevie Bell had a few Stevie Bell moments, Roscoe was pretty sold, the two full backs were brilliant as usual. Kelly was brilliant and dreadful in spells.

Lochwood
Good defensive performance on the night and a draw the right result , dire to watch mistake after mistake being made from both sides From middle to front. Big Drinan ran himself into the ground with no support starting to shoot from everywhere late on and no wonder service to him from middle and forwards was dire. Forrest and Mccowan were dire especially Mccowan but Tiffoney and Moffat just as bad when they came on. But as they say if you can’t win the game don’t loose it.
D'Jaffo
Btw Ian Harkes and Dillon Powers might just be the worst midfield partnership I’ve seen in the Championship.
rb123!
If Dundee United continue to stutter along like this for another few weeks and Inverness and ourselves win our 2 games in hand it's going to get a bit bum clenching for the Dundee United, if we'd won tonight i would have been thinking of the full bottle job but they've still got enough in reserve.

callum-ayr
Thought the change in formation with Muirhead sitting mid worked well. If the McCowan and Forrest from the first third of the season turned up, think we’d maybe have had a few goals tonight. Thought both were very poor, touches and passes all over the place. The same with Moffat when he came on. Genuinely think the first pass to make it to an Ayr player from him was in the 80th minute. When your creative players are playing like that it’s going to be hard to score goals. Drinan worked his socks off again and Malley had a few nice runs without it coming to much. 0-0 a fair result.
Guest
12 hours ago, pandarilla said: How's this one going? Twitter updates suggest an even encounter, without too much action. It was not unlike our recent home matches against both Inverness and Ross County although with perhaps a little less action. That said, it wasn't a bad game, just that both sides tended to cancel each other out. The pitch was rather bobbly which perhaps stopped both teams playing a bit and there were lots of misplaced passes especially in the first half (mostly from Kerr and McCowan for us). Malley came on in the second half and really looks like he could be a player, however I don't think he gets involved enough or is working hard enough out of possession. Again, it's early days and he's still settling in but he does have that knack of ghosting past players with ease, similar to a James Maddison sort of player. Muirhead playing in a holding role in midfield actually worked quite well, he put himself about and won lots of balls so that's definitely an option for us going forward if required. Although goal mouth action was rather scarce, I'd say we just about shaded it with quite a few decent long range strikes coming from Drinan (who was excellent) and Kelly (who also had a good game). United didn't offer an awful lot last night but they did have Shankland, McMullan & Appere up top so there was always a threat. In a nutshell a draw was a fair result as neither team really did enough to take the three points.
AyrTroopMajor
I cannot believe I used to doubt Daniel Harvie. That header off the goal-line in the first half is every bit as vital as a goal. Some boy, hope he forgives me and has a glittering career.
