Simply put, it is a restriction of trade. & until the case is heard then nothing can be started. Simple business law. Covid may yet prevent an August restart (doubt it now) but if agreement not reached before it goes to court an injunction will have to be issued until case heard/completed. This will not happen. djchapsticks Posted June 17, 2020 Share Posted June 17, 2020 With the news that Sky are settling on a £170m rebate from the EPL (which IS finishing) due to broadcasting delays and the EPL will be due a further £160m to international broadcasters, we can finally put this nonsense to bed that if we'd somehow completed the season we wouldn't have suffered claims for rebates and that ending the season early has caused this. You might have a case on many facets of the debacle but you do NOT have a case on restriction of trade (correct term is restraint of trade btw).
