League Reconstruction 20/21 season

The point in question was - at the time of Dundeegate, was the option of playing out the season (in the face of a lockdown to June) "utterly impossible"? No. Was it even evaluated by the board (stuffed full of conflicted members) , along with null & void? And was it even put to the clubs in an objective manner?

Sure, a 6 year gap would be ridiculous. But somewhere between that and not trying at all would have been reasonable.

Scotland didnt look like sporting events could be played for some time. The clubs could have voted no if they fancied another outcome.

100% if this gets to court the  injunction will be put in place.
Simply put, it is a restriction of trade. & until the case is heard then nothing can be started. Simple business law.
Covid may yet prevent an August restart (doubt it now) but if agreement not reached before it goes to court an injunction will have to be issued until case heard/completed.
This will not happen. Feel free to bookmark this post

With the news that Sky are settling on a £170m rebate from the EPL (which IS finishing) due to broadcasting delays and the EPL will be due a further £160m to international broadcasters, we can finally put this nonsense to bed that if we'd somehow completed the season we wouldn't have suffered claims for rebates and that ending the season early has caused this.

This repayment to broadcasters was always on the cards regardless once it was evident that their schedules had been severely interrupted.

Some English teams.

The championship down got called no?

They can meet the costs of staging the premiership games out of the average £2m per game tv money. Our equivalent is more like £50k.

Would you be so kind as to explain the mechanism by which this alchemy occurs?

It's been said before Celtic have players on loan all over the place if there is less on loan because of the colts other teams will be able to develop their own.

Thanks. That actually makes sense. I'm not saying it's a good or true argument but it is at least logically consistent.

Clubs have their own youth development having Celtic colt teams in league 2 will free up more space for other teams to develop their own talent.
The better ones will always be loans out to gain experience at the higher levels.

League 2 continues to be competitive with two clubs plus a possible (play off)  third being promoted and one involved in a play off with the pyramid winner. Which two clubs do you propose should be demoted to make way for the two colt teams? If that hurdle is crossed, what are the conditions for the colts? They would have to be eligible for promotion or demotion to a lower league, either the East of Scotland or the Northern League. Situations could arise where the The Boards and/ or managements could directly influence the results of games in League 2 or higher plus  problems would be caused by participation in cup games. This is why the idea has been rejected out of hand for the past three years.  Please give some constructive thought before,  inevitably,  the same daft idea  will be advanced again I was totally disapponted but not surprised that media idiots endorsed the suggestion this time round.

You might have a case on many facets of the debacle but you do NOT have a case on restriction of trade (correct term is restraint of trade btw). Look up "balance of convenience" which will explain why.

10 minutes later and they’re not even asking for this.

Im not saying I have any clue how this will go but it’s been amusing watching the ITK kickback bois talk us through events and being spectacularly wrong at every turn.

Pay particular attention to "As matters stand, we have not asked the Court to grant an interim interdict which would prevent next Season commencing on 1 August." Hearts and Partick know fine well they don't stand a chance of getting that injunction and it would look terrible if they even tried.

It took 12 minutes for that 100% of yours to turn into something much closer to 0%. Let that be a lesson as to how delusional the Jambo fan mindset is at the moment.
