I think the perceived 'wisdom' here is that Talbot have enjoyed a competitive advantage due to their regular appearances in the Senior Scottish Cup and some sort of dark political influence in the Junior grade. Now this stranglehold has been broken by the pyramid and licencing it means that teams like Cumnock can throw off their shackles and set the big doom clock ticking for Talbot. In this World the more Talbot win matches and upgrade the beechwood facilities the worse they actually are, somehow. You’d have trouble recognising the place such is the difference in almost every area ten years later. Credit to the regeneration committee who folk also leave out of their reality. Talbot didn’t create the juniors just made the most of things competitively that they could.
