Do you think Southgate stating it's not political and ideological will change the opinion of those that already believe it is political and ideological?

..I of course don't think it is but it's similar to how people can lie without knowing they're doing so, if these people, however incorrect they may be, believe that it is political and ideological can you fairly say they're being racist for booing when in their mind they're booing something they view as political and ideological?

Do you genuinely believe that these people genuinely believe that Gareth Southgate is a Marxist ?

I don't think they know what one is and they use it as an interchangeable term to mean lefty/socialist. I think they think the process of taking the knee is "political marxist shit" no matter what their opinion on Southgate is. Perhaps if all of the black players came out and said they thought it was racist to boo them taking the knee and explained how it personally made them feel then that would have more of an impact for some than Southgate, man wears a waste coat anyway, I can't see him getting through to the lower IQ sorta fan.

Then they should just grow up surely? And is it not possible that they are both stupid and racist?

Not representative of all these people of course but took a quick look through the guy who I initially quoted's twitter (https://mobile.twitter.com/JohnjoL20, bleach your eyes after) and definitely a guy with no issues with race at all. No siree

Well, yes. How have they come to this conclusion ?

Because they're thick and probably get their news from the Daily Mail or Facebook?

C'mon man yourself, I wasnt saying that i think they should or need to do that, that would be such a ridiculous ask, I was just musing that I wonder if that would have more of an impact for the uninformed booers over Southgate.

For sure they should, as much as growing out of stupidity is possible.

Of course some of them will be, I don't think it's conclusive that everyone that booed is racist though.

Fair enough man, I just think it's pretty unimportant whether it's everyone. I was being a dick earlier by the way, apologies

Most of the time when I see like Keir Starmer or Joe Biden taking the knee I dismiss it as useless liberal posturing but then I see who gets really mad at it and swing back around to thinking it’s doing a public good

Has Joe taken a knee? I'd be genuinely impressed if he managed to get back up.

congrats to @Mr Waldo on his viral tweet

Aye, right.

  1. I wouldn't know where to start posting a tweet on a tweety stream
  2. I would only boo strategically
  3. I am against kneeling, coz it's taking me longer to get back up.

That is correct and I can be guilty of playing devils advocate. I certainly wouldn't boo and I don't think I'd like to be mates with anyone that would have done so.

No hard feelings. You're usually more often than not a reasonable poster in my view. I shouldn't have been so sensitive tbf.
