As much as it was an embarrassing performance and losing to a supposed lesser team in the group, personally we’ve got to hope we get our act together in the league but after getting beat in the derby a few weeks ago and the way things are looking performance wise atm there’s no guarantee it’s gonny get any better.

European football is not the catalyst for Celtic managers.

You do mean benchmark and European football absolutely is the benchmark. Celtic have 7 times the budget of Aberdeen and 20 times that of Livi meaning that you have monumental advantages over every team in the league bar 1. You should be beating these teams with your 3rd string. Yesterday you beat Motherwell with their best player over the last 2 seasons being an unused sub on your bench. The teams in the Scottish premiership can't compete with you in the same way you can't compete with PSG.

Sparta Prague, Lille, Copenhagen etc. are much closer to Celtic in terms of stature and finance, these are direct competitors for you and are a reflection of how good a team you are, to say otherwise is wrong.

Celtic are a middleweight boxer beating up bantamweights on a weekly basis, when you take on guys your own size you have done okay at times but you deep down, really, you are not a true contender.

Sparta turn over is less than Celtic at $28M, but financed by its chairman who owns 5% of the Royal fuckin' Mail they can buy BIG if needed.

Lille posted losses last year of €67M despite profit in transfers of €54M, we ain't in their league wage wise.

Copenhagen has a more lucrative by far TV deal and in net transfer profits horse us.

That's the beauty of European fitba, diversity of finances.

Domestically, you could say the same. It's all in the eye of the beholder.
