Tony Wonder
Dhanda confirmed, 3 year deal. So that's Dhanda,Spittal,Drammeh, Ogyeoke,Penrice, Fulton all in for day 1 of pre season. Taylor done as well by all accounts. Looks like good business. Most importantly it allows a proper bedding in period, none of the mess of last season where we were adding players in late.

A great player, an even better fella, but far too often on the periphery of games.

Good thing from our point of view is he is coming in with a lot of competition. We have Grant, McKay, Spittal, Boyce, Oda, Forrest and Vargas that can play in similar areas. So he'll need to perform or won't play, hopefully the competition brings out the best in him.

A lot of folks feel that way about McKay already. But it also feels like Dhanda has a potential higher ceiling so if he is hiding, the Hearts da's will let him know about it.
DC92
Assuming Taylor signs, I'd say the only obvious gaps are competition in defensive midfield and up front. Grant, Sibbick, Atkinson and one of the strikers look to be surplus. My concern at this point is whether Taylor and Oyegoke solve the right-back problem. Taylor will likely take time to settle and Oyegoke didn't seem to set the heather alight in League 2. I'm well on board with signing younger players with potential, but it's probably an area where we could do with an experienced option. I'd also say Spittal/Dhanda for Grant/Fraser is the only position where we've clearly upgraded the starting XI so far, for all the business that's been done. Still early days, though, and even if most of the new signings don't work out, we're heading into pre-season with a squad that's inarguably bigger and stronger than the one that finished the previous season. That's a big positive and gives Naismith time to assess the players before finalising our business in August.
Alberto Spencer
Regarding Gerald Taylor, Scottish Football Authorities have granted Hearts the "Governing Body Endorsement" document which gives approval to his transfer so we only need the work permit now. As he's playing in the Copa America and a current International that's expected to be processed early July. Two RBs signed seems likely to mean Nat Atkinson will be on his way.

Mr. X
Shame we didn't cut Rangers allocation back a bit for their fans meathead behavior. Maybe that's still an option, leave the seats empty.
Galajambo
I still feel we need a decent centre half, Halkett is made of glass and we can't rely on him, albeit he's a very good defender, Sibbick is just pish and gives me the fear, and Rowles is very indifferent, good on the ground, hopeless in the air, we need better in there.
Alberto Spencer
Liam McFarlane (GK) out on loan to East Fife for the season. Naismith did say when we signed Ryan Fulton as 3rd choice he envisaged both Harry Stone (now at Ayr) & Liam going out on loan. Liam had a very good season last year for the B team in the Lowland League.

Strange I've read the opposite in that he never hides especially in big games. Any time I've watched county he seemed to be the match winner and in a team that finished so low In the table his stats are impressive.

It's easier to find yourself on the periphery of a game where your team are struggling for a foothold. Hearts, at least domestically, tend to spend more time on the front foot so the nature of the job is going to be different. Whether that suits him better or not remains to be seen

Harry Stone looked a fine keeper in the making during his loan at Palmerston last season ... one of the only positives from a poor season. Will watch his development with interest. Edit - he looked the part in a defensive showing in the big cup at Paisley, only shipping one goal that day against a decent top league side. Alberto Spencer
7th signing now announced as Gerald Taylor's work permit is approved. I guess that'll be all unless there is movement out with Toby Sibbick & Nat Atkinson up for sale.
Tony Wonder
Happy with this, seems a decent prospect. Really, really happy with our business so far. Squad was already in a good place, the signings all seem sensible and give us good cover all over.
Kyle Reese
I have high hopes for Taylor. Really feeling pretty positive about next season, just now.

Yeah we'd be pretty strong if it were to start tomorrow. Everyone fit too, no long term injuries which is unique for us over the last few seasons.
