I think the original post has been corrected.

it said Dodds said they aren’t a lottery and praised Celtic for keeping their nerve. Which would make sense. I didn’t actually hear the commentary which I’m guessing he said it is a lottery.

Ah, right.  Fair enough.

Yes, in the commentary, Dodds did say a penalty shoot-out represents a lottery, which surely implies that none of the participants deserve praise or criticism.

Yes, thanks for the literal interpretation SD.

Funny thing is, I actually realised he'd played football before and wasn't being entirely serious, in order to make a point of sorts.

It's a thing people sometimes do.  Look out for it.

Uh huh, another funny thing people do, specifically footballers, is take a shot from distance. Sometimes they come off, sometimes they clear the roof of the Stand. Ginelly has a track record for scoring the spectacular. He was entitled to have a dip, he snatched at it and got it wrong.

I'm not seeing that.

Had he displayed composure on earlier occasions, we'd have had no extra time.

Neither of his previous misses were a tap in from 6 feet though were they. The first was from 25 - 30 yards and shooting was the wrong option. You can't remotely claim Hearts would definitely have scored if he'd taken another option though. The second was a better chance but it was still a snapshot from 15 yards that had to be taken first time, striking across a moving ball. It was hardly an open goal sitter.

Celtic fans showing a lot of humility after limping over the line against a Championship side.

As you know, it takes a truly exceptional Championship side to win the Scottish Cup

Was at work today so completely missed it but it sounds like a stormer of a final. Celtic come out victorious but it would appear the fragility of their soft under belly is still on show for all to see.

Looking forward to the highlights.

Imagine feeling that desperate in life you feel the need to share a tweet from David Tanner ffs.

You have no issues with celtic fans flouting the pandemic rules?

They've missed a few league games which they'll struggle to fit in and a tough 120 minutes today before a midweek game too.

No worries. FWIW I am quite willing to believe that Dodds would say something hyperbolic, nonsensical and contradictory and at the same time saying absolutely nothing of substance.

None of them were sitters, but he messed each one up.

The best of the lot, you don't mention at all and it came when two defenders clashed, allowing the ball to dribble through.  He failed to push it sufficiently in front of himself to allow for a decent shot.

The fact is that he made one lousy decision to shoot when he shouldn't have, and missed two other good chances quite badly.

He had opportunities to win his side the cup, but fluffed them. Not the first or last to do so, but frustrating nonetheless.
