Advertising wrapping wallpaper

I know you've a hot tub to heat but is there any way of disabling the NHS Covid advertising background? It's really screwing up the performance of GN and making it all laggy on my laptop when I'm supposed to be working and its ruining my forum experience.

For a moment I thought that @Alert Mongoose had been hard at work and produced some "NHS" wallpaper.  

If he ever does get round to it I'll order 10 rolls for my home office.  I'll supply my own paste.

We did have a problem ad loading earlier today that I had the ad guys disable, but it wasn't an NHS campaign.

I'll have a look and see what's running and if it's problematic I'll get it switched off.

Your ad guys have swapped the NHS ad for a perfume one and it’s happening again. Site is fine on the phone, unworkably laggy on the laptop.

It's genuinely not designed to be like that.

The ads keep the site free to use. Today is the busiest day of advertising in the calendar year and the next few weeks are going to be pretty similar levels of in your face ads I'm afraid.

Yes if you take out a platinum membership for a month they will all go away. Come January the ads will be far less noticeable.
