Irish First Division Promotion Playoff - Final - November 2076

Spoiler

UY2sfr0.png

Ah shite.

Not the start I wanted, and we were a bawhair from getting a fairly credible draw but that puts us in a tough spot. It's certainly not insurmountable, but it makes it a lot more difficult.

Spoiler

ruF5gY1.png

Beautiful.

I guess they should have spent less time being woke and they'd have done better.

Shayne Nevin has been a wee bit shite for the last few weeks and months, but he scored three and set up the other in (to date) our most important game of the season, so I think I can forgive him.

mj8Rj2q.png

Two more games and we'll be a Premier Division side.

As a quick aside, if their fans don't sing "I think we're Athlone Town" to the tune of tiffany, I'll be extremely disappointed.

While all that was happening, I had a bit of international business. Wonderful to beat Brazil in Brazil, we completely deserved it too, outplayed them.

Bolivia are quite shite, and the La Paz factor doesn't really carry over to FM, so unlucky for them.

We've become the first team to qualify for the World Cup, we'll be joining host nation France.

Lovely stuff.

Irish Premiership Playoff - November 2076

Spoiler

k7oXDB1.png

Mind that playoff game a few years ago when Forfar completely lost the plot? Think they were playing Dunfermline? Aye, basically that.

That should be enough to see us into the Premiership, but we still have the second leg to navigate.

Spoiler

IeNmERG.png

r49AaQY.png

It was enough to get us there, but only just. That would have been the biggest bottle job I can remember ever having in FM.

But we snuck through, and we'll be playing in the Irish Premier Division next year.

My squad needs a lot of fucking work or it'll only be next year I'm there.

Transfers 2077

sfgKuG7.png

FBvmijS.png

Owen Keogh leaving is a blow, as he was my best central midfielder, but he signed a pre-contract immediately after I turned up, so nothing I could really do. Not much else of note really leaving, I would have kept Kelly as back up, but he was wanting to be considered an important player so off he went.

YzQw6c1.png

eo69JXs.png

Right, the way that the transfer windows here work is that there's a domestic window, which is shut, but then you're allowed to make transfers from overseas for a bit longer. Theoretically, I could still sign players but that won't be happening because no c**t wants to join me.

Ronan O'Shea is a young striker on loan for the season. His main strengths are his movement and finishing, but clearly he has a lot of areas to improve on. Not particularly quick or strong, which isn't ideal, and from the looks of things, if he isn't scoring he'll do absolutely nothing.

Spoiler

l8ybSgM.png

Shay Dawson is a central midfielder, and he's basically what you expect from a poor league central midfielder. Good passer, decent technique, works hard but there's not a lot to his game really. Should be fine though,

Spoiler

sXU48nk.png

Shane Kelly is a right back, and he's a fairly ropey player without any stand out attributes but he should still be good enough to do a job in my side. He's fit and his positioning is decent, so I don't think he'll be a liability, which is better than some of the options available.

Spoiler

uXCQn5Z.png

Jonathan Ameobi is a left winger, and he's absolutely fucking rapid. He's also a good dribbler, and has a fair bit of flair too. His end product seems to be suspect, but I would hazard a guess that even still he'll be good for at least a couple of wondergoals a season. and his pace alone should cause problems at this level.

Spoiler

oieZFpF.png

David Dailly is a right back who I'll be playing at left back. He's a lot like Shane Kelly, but probably slightly better. Probably about as good as I can hope for at the minute given our standing in Irish football.

Spoiler

lnrRCgb.png

Andrew Wood is another centre midfielder, and he's here to provide depth. That's literally it.

Spoiler

ayu73j5.png

Adam Corcoran is another loanee, this time an attacking midfielder from Derry City. He's a good player, especially at 18, and should do well for us. At the very least, he gives me something off the bench since that was a bit issue last year - if one of my attacking players wasn't performing, all I had was complete dross to replace them.

A fantastic, and unexpected, start. It would seem that other teams don't enjoy the trip to Donegal very much, but that we're going to be complete shite away from home too.

I'll take that, to be honest.

I've already won more games that Galway United managed last season when they finished bottom, so that's good.

This won't last, but it's looking nice at the minute.

What's the attendances for those clubs usually? You are about 80 years in. Maybe Glentoran are in a 50,000 all seater by now

Thistle get about 16,000 on average, Glentoran about 14,000.

It was a sell out crowd at Hampden...

March 2077

Fixtures.thumb.PNG.1f3a302eb13f79febd1254eda27cf55f.PNG

Both the games we lost involved us playing for long periods with 10 men, but f**k it - we beat Dundalk! I mean, we only had one shot in the whole match, but we fucking beat Dundalk. Glorious scenes.

We've still to win a game by more than a single goal as well. We're shitfesting our way to glory, and I love it.

Table.PNG.8365e55902fe15a9c77bf06fab621ce0.PNG

Second place with a negative goal difference.

That's just what I like to see.

Argentina

Two incredibly routine victories. Paraguay are a bad team, Peru are ok but nowhere near our level.

263245078_ArgentinaGroup.PNG.719e86a8a8d562085261156e4a6fe877.PNG

We've qualified already, but have four more games.

Going to try and throw some young players in, try to see if they're up to it.

April 2077

Fixtures.thumb.PNG.30bf4f8e9da4a10d1fad47a4d63fb2fc.PNG

An extremely busy, and fairly poor, month for us.

A couple of important wins in the middle of the month against some of the poorer sides in the division, and we made it through to the quarter final of the league cup, so those are the positives - but we've been getting nothing from the games against tougher teams, and it's served to really highlight how thin my squad is in terms of having any quality whatsoever. A couple of players miss out and we've got nothing at all.

Table.PNG.e2505d833c6d8f7987745dc7f1615c44.PNG

We've dropped like a stone to fifth, and to be honest I would take this at the end of the season.

We should have enough of a head start to stay out of any relegation bother, but that'll be about the limit of my ambitions for the season. I'd quite like to win a cup as well, but I don't think we'll have the quality if we're drawn against a good team.

Another tough month for us. We were absolutely robbed against St Pat's, and should have beaten Shelbourne as well but just couldn't get the goal.

Into the semi final of the League Cup though, so that's nice. We're playing lower league Cobh Ramblers so a good chance at a final.

Table.PNG.526339b1df00b0fe82dd37315b692f53.PNG

We have 16 games left, and have to start picking up some points soon or we can be dragged into a fight at the bottom.

June 2077

The summer transfer window opened this month, and in light of our recent struggles, I saw fit to bring in 4 new players.

Yann Awana joins as an attacking midfielder. He's got a few great attributes, most notably his first touch, passing and movement. He's certainly an improvement on what we had previously.

Spoiler

429776753_YannAwana.thumb.PNG.d8cd63f31c3653416c8774f3ee0e1ed1.PNG

Filip Eliasen is a right back/centre half and he's an international footballer - for the Faroe Islands. Defensively solid enough, he should be good, but he could also be shite so who know. I'm hoping for the former.

Spoiler

480350553_FilipEliasen.thumb.PNG.78feb7dad24a602eb6958a48d1947ca3.PNG

Shane McHugh is my new left back, and a lot like Eliasen he's solid defensively. Probably a bit etter defensively, but worse in an attacking sense than Eliasen, but he should do a job regardless. He also joins my impressive collection of "guys named Shane" at the club, with four in my first team squad along with a Shay and another Shane in the reserves.

Spoiler

891638413_ShaneMcHugh.thumb.PNG.51cca81bfcea3199468199f288648045.PNG

Lee Forde is a central midfielder, and he should improve my team by quite a lot. Great movement, good on the ball - his passing isn't ideal but he should still be able to do well for me.

Spoiler

45915399_LeeForde.thumb.PNG.463b1a22e7cb2f939f0f21e4dcd12dbc.PNG

Right, anyway that's the transfers. We also had Thomas Fitzsimmons leave to Sligo Rovers, but he had only made one league appearance for me, so no loss there.

Fixtures.thumb.PNG.25c8b685c1299b71c0ea3ee73ecbc9c6.PNG

A good month. Finally got a win under our belt, and for the first time this season it was by more than a single goal. Cork City absolutely battered us, and they should have beaten us by 4 or 5, but Patterson in goal had a great game and we rode our luck. Nearly stole it at the end too, but oh well.

Table.PNG.a4c9e8b0a2a762f249d046216635a45e.PNG

We've restored a bit more of a gap to the bottom, which is nice.

The rest of the season will be entirely about maintaining that.

Argentina

1907394394_ArgentinaFixture.thumb.PNG.a2ca30605f70dfd68f1fb86c59c5b869.PNG

A couple of friendlies. Playing Guatemala was probably a waste of time, but they inexplicably asked to play me so fine. Got a couple of younger players their first caps, so that's nice.

July 2077

MaEAPUz.png

Continued my mostly decent form from June with a handful of important wins - particularly against Sligo. Our only loss was against title-challengers Shamrock, and that was a last minute winner for them, so I think it was a good month.

Ameobi loves an absolute screamer by the way. Some boy. He's my top league scorer with nine, and I think almost all of them have been crackers.

RKYKblA.png

Anyway, we're doing fine. Our current points total would be enough, most seasons, to see us safe already, so I'm hopeful that we're already good and we can focus on trying to just finish as high up the table as possible.

Get fucked you absolute tosser.

I made the mistake of signing Karamoko Dembele for St. Mirren one game and when I dropped him to the bench for two games for a rest he instantly wanted out. I've no problems in letting c***s like that GTF as soon as possible.

Absolutely despise those players, really wish there was a "complete c**t" personality listed for these guys so as to avoid signing them. I signed a boy called Kaiser for Dumbarton and he wanted to play centre half. He played 40 games, 37 of those at centre half, and still asked to leave at the end of the season.
