I cannot even begin to explain how bad that was and is symptomatic of where we are at at the moment. Not sour grapes at all but I was not even that impressed with St Mirren. The goal came from a save that went straight to the St Mirren player despite there being 4 to 5 Well players in and around the box. That is misfortune. Twice as many shots on and off target and still cannot gain a point. I would have been happy to play the 2 games v Killie and St Mirren. Not now and hope the punishment stands because we would be in a hell of a mess with 6 less points. I have genuine fear for next week and if Rangers are in the mood. Hamilton’s 8-0 defeat will be under serious threat. I will not call for Robbo’s head as he has form for getting us back on track and December is usually a miserable time for us. No different this year it would seem. But we need to get past the Rangers game and turn up in the midweek game v Aberdeen. Aye I know what you mean. I don't think anyone has to be very effective against us. Just don't do anything stupid and wait on us gifting a chance. Basically go a goal up at Fir Park and get the cigars out.

Our performance today wasn't nearly as good as both of our games against Aberdeen. Particularly in the second half. FWIW I though you were better than Aberdeen were against us. You certainly created more chances than they did. However, it must be worrying for you, that you can't beat a team with so little goal scoring threat.
dezz
Not as peculiar as logging onto P&B to cry about it. Each to their own I guess. Looking forward to tagging yer man Tony Fitzpatrick in future tweets.

Imagine the scenes if we start being able to score goals. Add another 10-goal striker to this team and we're finishing 6th or 7th, even with the forfeits.

Clearly it's a worry in so much as we've lost the game but we've already been here at the start of the season. We had 19 shots against Saints today, we had 15 shots against County, 18 against United and 17 against Accies. We've lost all 4 1-0 and it's been similar circumstances - ship a cheap goal and then huff and puff without being able to break sides down. Equally though we've scudded Aberdeen 3-0, County 4-0 and had a comfortable 2-0 against Livi. When it's clicked it's largely been fine. We could do with him hitting one of those streaks soon.

There's a sense the team is clicking to some degree now so hopefully he can regain his best form. I definitely don't see the appeal in Erwin, mind. No wonder County didn't kick up a fuss when he asked to leave.

I'm sure one of the stats nerds could quantify it but we're not really creating a boat load of golden opportunities. Like a couple of reasonably threatening balls across the box and a bit of catching practice for Alnwick. Aside from that one decent dig from Maguire I wouldn't say we were threatening. Fair play to Saints. Probably as textbook an away performance as you could hope for.

However I don't think it's unfair to say he only had any real effect when we brought Scott McDonald back who spent 90 minutes shouting at him and telling him how to play as a striker.
Billy Jean King
10,000 St Mirren fans to somehow find their way inNo Saints fans made their way in to my knowledge. One Saints shot and no Well shots did though and that's all that matters. There's always next season.
