Fifespud
I disagree with the statement ’player safety is paramount’. Most of ours are shite so if 1 or 2 got broken - who cares. Instead I had to watch Leeds v Brighton and that couldn’t hold a candle to our big game.

The ref gave his reason for postponing the game and then we requested extra time to sort out what his issue was which was rejected as he'd fucked off home before we'd even got in touch with the league. So what exactly is Dundee FC's point in whining to the SPFL, the SFA, probably the UN Security Council as well at this rate? The onus is on the club to produce a park that is playable when it is inspected. It is not on the referee to bend over backwards and delay kick-off to let your club do extra work on it. What both clubs have to say about whether it was playable or not is also completely irrelevant. A full-blown minter from the club and anyone who buys into their hilarious sense of injustice. -

It wasn't playable when the actual match official turned up. This happens all the time. So having punted out your first complaint, we'd then turn to your gormless club officials chasing after a referee's car and insisting that they stick around to give more time to sort out your nick of a pitch. I'm sure they'll take your club's tantrum complaint very seriously then. -

Nothing happened in the intervening period to make it unplayable. That means one of the officials made an incorrect assessment. It is therefore not unreasonable to ask the SFA to investigate.

Sounds like he didn't even give the proposition of an hour's delay serious thought. https://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/fp/dundee-boss-james-mcpake-says-referee-was-wrong-to-call-off-ayr-clash-after-inspection-confusion/ McPake paints himself in to a corner by saying they should have played then stopped if the pitch was dangerous. The ref would argue that as precisely why he wasnt prepared to risk it.
Ludo*1
Someone on the other forum saying it was Dougie Fordyce that done the first inspection. Anyone that knows local Dundee football will know that explains a lot.
