welshbairn
Dreaming up ways to use up cancelled flight vouchers and mulling over St Martin in the Caribbean. Half of the island's French and the other half Dutch, so you eat on one side and drink on the other. Anyone been?

Elric
Have 3 cruises booked for 2022 with the first being a South African cruise in February. Will be interesting to see if this goes ahead as the cruise line has already started cancelling South Africa and South America cruises for the end of 2021.

Depending on how much you want to spend there is a float plane in Ketchican that takes you over to an island to see bears which was great, also train trip in Skagway is worthwhile. When on the ship watch for birds gathering just above the water generally a sign that there are whales in the area. you will have a great time.

They had a board with the times in my hotels reception another tip is also check when there is a cruise ship docking and avoid the beach when there is one in as it's mobbed.

Mulling over Sint Maarten and Curacao. Could transfer the vouchers to Air France for one of their islands but the connections are more of a pain in the arse. Would be grateful for any recommendations. Looking for somewhere that doesn't have giant cruise ships arriving every day but is still a bit lively. On that trip along with St Maarten we did Aruba Curacao and the Dominican Republic..There were pretty good cheap flights with local airlines for island hopping but to start we flew New York to Aruba and at the end st Maarten to Washington DC with a few days in each American city after/before our flights from home and we took 6 weeks in total Avoiding cruise ships in the Caribbean is hard but probably Aruba/Curacao we seem the least but they are tiny but we're the busiest nightlife destinations so it's swings and roundabouts St Maarten it seemed to be every 2nd day but it was 2 at a time so we fell into a routine of day trips during non cruise ship days and pool/beach days on cruise ship days it worked out pretty good..The local buses were cheap and uncomfortable but a good way of getting around the island and they took euros or dollars everywhere on the island but the dollar is king in the whole of the Caribbean
tree house tam
Treating the extended family to a week in Cappadocia/Goreme area then another week just outside Icmeler. The in laws have been totally against going to Turkey so hopefully a balloon trip with a few nights in the cave hotels in Cappadocia, a trip off the side of Badabag and a nice relaxing break in what's left of the pine forests will change their views. What's not to like? Edited December 6, 2021 by tree house tam
the snudge
Looking at going to Donegal next summer. Me the Mrs and two kids aged 4 and 10. Anyone been and anything you'd recommend doing? I've never been to Ireland. Her sister lives in Armagh so we're wanting to stay far away enough that we don't need to see her alot and close enough that we can make our excuses and leave.

Mitch
2022 is looking a lot more likely to have a decent level of normality.Cheltenham in March for the festival is booked. Be great to get back to it, as the Ebor a couple of weeks ago reminded me how it is to be back at the racing.Booked up for Egypt, back to the Sensatori hotel that I visited in 2012 & 2013. Got a it at a really cheap price for June 2022. Not booked yet, but hoping to get back to out New York Dec 2022. Will look at that seriously in Jan/Feb time and see how things are looking.
well fan for life
Got tickets to see Jungle in Berlin in February which I so hope goes ahead. Because Jungle are class and Berlin is such a glorious city to spend time in. Also got tickets to both weekends of Primavera Sound in Barcelona which is a wonderful festival in a beautiful place.
