alsy
Edged the first half, fell out of it completely in the second and we were very lucky to get away with a point. Don't know if Doran was injured or if taking him off at half time for Harper was tactical, but if the latter then it looks like about the first thing Dodds has got wrong in the league this season. Harper not couldn't keep possession and didn't seem able to take on his man. Wighton and then Thomas made a big difference for Dunfermline too, unsurprisingly; as we saw in the first half against Partick last week, the best way to unsettle us is to have players who will run directly at our defence, and in Kennedy, Wighton and Thomas, Dunfermline had three players who would do that. Bad decision making in front of goal and Mark Ridgers saved us. Probably good to get that game out of the way and get away with a point; got to assume Dunfermline will improve with that squad if Grant now recognises he fucked up the first four games of the season and starts to play his best players in their best positions. ETA - apparently Doran was injured, so Dodds is still a tactical genius. Edited September 18, 2021 by alsy
embow
ICT the only away team not to win today. Disappointing.
CallumPar
Happy to say I called it wrong today. Fantastic performance from us. Dorrans was excellent in midfield too. Very unlucky not to win. Wighton has to start ahead of O’Hara next week.
Rob1885
Much better but that wouldn't be hard. Todorov absolutely has to score that header. Becoming a habit now. Solid defensively and as good a point as any to work with. MUST win next week.
Cardle is Magic
We kept a clean sheet and didn’t lose which is an improvement. Todorov has to score that header and we probably should have won by the end. Can’t help but feel the lowered expectations made the performance seem better than it was though. Caley were absolute gubbins. Simply must beat Accies next weekend.

Your expectations must have been fifty feet beneath the Earth to describe that as even approaching “fantastic”.
OwenDAFC
Ohara looked like a league 1 player if he’s lucky. Constantly gave the ball away! Wighton is twice the player he is.
101
That was a stop the rot performance got to beat Accies now. Also the fans were fantastic after the utter shite that has been served up so far this season to have any kind of atmosphere would have been astounding.
Highland Capital
How did the walkout go?
parsforlife
Million times better today. But that says more about previous performances than this one. Little more quality could have won that, but Inverness had chances too and will be disappointed they didn’t get a goal from the long spell of pressure in the first half. Grant got most things right and we look far more comfortable going back to basics. It’s not enough to make up for his previous games and he should still go but I doubt that will happen.
DAFC.
That was still a poor showing and ICT weren’t good at all either. Draw was totally the fair result. Today was clearly a stop the rot job. You’ve got to give credit for not losing and keeping a clean sheet given the dire past 4 weeks. We simply have to win against Accies. Another draw isn’t good enough. We could then get beat off Raith if that’s the case and start to look in deep turd at the bottom. If that happens then I think we’d all be happy just staying away from the bottom two by the end of the season.

While nothing about today made me think a massive revival is at all likely, we certainly should have enough to avoid bottom two. Actually embarrassed we even have to discuss the possibility but that’s what happens when you appoint a relegation specialist.
parsforlife
I’m counting today’s point as one closer to safety certainly.

You're right about Harper today but the lad has a good game in him but unfortunately he was up against some excellent defending. I'm going to say what others may be thinking and that is that Billy Mackay needs to start before Duku, Billy is solid as a striker whereas Duku is light and easily bundled off the ball in a physical game as we saw today. -
Brashy's Boots
So, not "win or bust" today then? And you're all quite coy about the walkout...

DAFC.
Harper went on to be my left-back for about 5 seasons in Football Manager as I won the treble with the Pars and got to Europa League Semis. He must be class.
CaleyStan
Didn't really get going. Thought we were popping it about quite comfortably first half and building to something but the departure of Shane really shook us. Seems weird to say it because he's not one of our best technical players and it's taken him a while to establish himself but so much of what we've acheived so far this season is built around what Shane does. Saw a bit of squad weakness for the first time in having to play Harper in left mid for a half and he was truly awful. Still, great penalty box defending and the best keeper in the league (maybe in the country?) saw us through. It's a point we would've been delighted with at the start of the season.
