Newco v Oldforce

We'll all expect to see penalties every time a Rangers defender gets a hold of an opponents shirt in the box then. Just like the penalties we got on Wednesday for the same.

Absolutely. If a defender (regardless of team) grabs a players shirt and pulls him down it is a penalty!

That was 100% a foul and Bates reaction said it all. His mistake cost his team the three points.

If Goldson had committed the same foul I’d say exactly the same thing. Tbh I’m surprised he didn’t the way he is going through the motions

Sevco player's simulation included attempt to head the ball from Bate's nutsack which is dangerous play and a foul.  Clear penalty in the Louden and ludge only. And gtf that Beaton spotted the one frame in thousands that shows the Zambian Cousteau's jersey sticking out. Beaton cheated.

Doesn’t matter how many frames showed the foul. You only need to see it once and if , as the poster said, he watched it many times then he must have seen the shirt pull.

"Never played a minute of football" type post IMO.

If there is any pull (he does grab the shirt) then he should have falled backwards. There's not enough force there for him to fall down when Bates lets go. So you're still speaking nonsense.

It's easier just to say "we got away with that one" as the Aberdeen fans did when Hayes should have seen red v St Mirren.

I’ve played and as a centre back. My son also played to a very decent standard.

Bates lost Sakala and panicked and fouled him. Tbh after watching Sakala he had no need to panic.

Against St Mirren Sakala had a header and should have scored but St Mirren defender did enough to put him off without fouling him. St Mirren defender didn’t grab his shirt. St Mirren defender didn’t pull him down. No penalty

I was at the game and sit in The Copland. Met my mate after the game who sits in the far end of the Main Stand and asked if it was a penalty. I said to him that Bates grabbed his shirt and was a foul but many referees would have taken the easy decision and not given it. In that respect we were lucky

A former SPL supremo has interesting take on the penalty, celtics placeman at the SFA should sort out a referee for getting a decision correct.

So anyway, we have 6 pens against AFC** in last 3 years home and away versus new rangers and 1 penalty at Ibrox for AFC** in 28 years over both club's.

Not even going to ask anyone to count the penalties in total over those 28 years for both Ibrox clubs home and away against AFC**. We all know the answer is f*cking ridiculous.

The numbers speak for themselves.

Last 28 years by my count: Rangers 22 penalties (14 at Ibrox, 8 at Pittodrie)

Aberdeen 7 penalties (6 at Pittodrie, 1 at Ibrox)

There must be stats somewhere on when these big decisions are awarded in games, as in when they are behind or drawing going into last 20 mins. If not there should be when you see the stats on players nowadays with yards run, heart rate xg etc.

Think it would be an interesting read in the Scottish game. Suppose that permanent undercurrent that threatens to violently erupt in a riot when they're losing or feeling  decisions aren't going their way helps them pressure the referee that lives in their postcode, drinks, socialises and supports the same clubs as them.

That's without taking into account the favouritism that everyone would have refereeing their own clubs.

Then we had their "special" referees for the "journey" 🤣 (deid club🤣new club🤣) and i don't think the new clubs entitlement of "special" referees hasn't been ended.

How can we have fair competition when only ten clubs have the fairness of impartial referees? Why are ten clubs playing by a very different set of rules. Ten clubs in a gamble that decisions even out amongst them and two clubs given "special" referees to "make sure" decisions are evened out for them.

🤣😂😅🤣

Referees should ignore Aberdeen players shirt pulling.
