magic sign Posted January 2, 2022 Share Posted January 2, 2022 So barring an unlikely comeback by Denver and some results going their way next week the Dolphins are officially out of playoff contention. Beaten by the better team this week, the Titans definitely showed the Dolphins where their weaknesses are. For a team that relies on quick release tight window throws, the Dolphins had no answer to playing smart to the weather conditions. The Titans on the other hand adjusted early on after realising that the rain and wind was making throwing accurately difficult, so pounded the run and then used play action to make short to medium yardage throws to wide open receivers.Tua was awful tonight, he was obviously having issues gripping the ball (even fumbled whilst trying to make a throw, whilst under no pressure). The offensive play-calling was awful also, The Titans pounded the run, where the Dolphins tried trick plays, one where a TE tried to throw a pass into triple coverage in a windy rainy game. The Dolphins OL is still trash but let's be honest, our whole season has rested upon a blitz heavy defence, an RPO offence (without an actual run game) with the only reliable receiver being a rookie and the conditions tonight didn't play to our strengths and we couldn't, or didn't try to adjust.
