Biden really needs this wrapped up before next November...

A lot of the military goodies that the Ukrainians really need right now like GLSDB and possibly ATACMS to extend the range of HIMARS potentially out as far as the Kerch bridge and the F-16s to give them a shot at something closer to air superiority on the frontlines won't arrive until the autumn of this year or into next year. You would almost get the impression that Joe B wants to have Vlad's ultimate comeupance in all of this only happen while he is out on the campaign trail next year.

Donald Trump's various potential legal proceedings in New York, Georgia, Washington DC and Florida revolving around stuff that largely happened in early 2021 or earlier also seem to have been conveniently stalled long enough for multiple trials to happen when he would otherwise have been out campaigning so there is maximum embarrassment for the Republicans in 2024 where that is concerned.

Not sure how you figure that.

Trumps lawyers fought interviews with people for quite a while in New York, and the final interviews were only a couple of months before indictment and very necessary as it was statement from his lawyer on matters covered by the crime exception.

The new Federal indictment in Miami has been fought the same way, with the ultimate proof only being received with the raid on Mar-A-Lago only happening 11 months ago…and Trump lawyers fought to exclude that, delaying charges/trial. The judge in the Miami trial will determine how fast the trial proceeds, and she’s a Trump appointee and fan.

The Georgia case has had a series of revelations over the past couple of years that have pushed back possible charges as more interviews have had to be held, especially ones with a Trump associates, interviews that were delayed by legal wrangling, again, by Trump’s lawyers.

I don't agree, Trump's lifelong legal tactic has been to delay proceedings as long as possible until the people he's stiffing run out of money. Now he's taking on State and Federal Governments, so it's not going to work, but he thinks if he gets back into the Whitehouse he can pardon himself for Federal crimes and somehow change the constitution to get rid of the State ones. Trump's very happy with the timetable, he gets 24/7 TV coverage every time he goes to court, free publicity that his opponents would kill for, and his deplorables lap it up and send in their pension cheques to his battle fund. I don't think Biden either wants a delay or has the power to make it happen, Federal or especially State.

The big one that will likely take precedence over the others on what goes to trial first is still what happened on Jan 6th and that has scope to move well beyond just Trump where the Republicans are concerned. Anyway back on topic, there seems to be a lot of chatter today about the Swedes sending the Ukrainians an anti-ship missile called the Hammer of Thor:

GLSDB has entered the chat?

The road and possibly also the rail bridges into Crimea from the north at Chonhar were hit by missiles overnight. There is still a narrow land connection to Crimea at Armiansk that provides a longer less favourable road link to Melitopol from Crimea but losing these bridges would be very bad news for Russian logistics.

GLSDB missiles are less expensive than conventional HIMARS munitions so this could follow the same script as what happened with the road and rail bridges into the city of Kherson, if they are readily available to the Ukrainians now.

What an absolute shitshow ukraine now find themsleves in .

A country that let's face it will never fully recover , will lose a large percentage of land .

A generation wiped out  physically and nothing left in the country for anyone stupid enough to hang around.

If only they kept control of own affairs  adhered to the mink agreement and not allow itself to be used for a usa russian proxy war .

Which parts of the Minsk agreement did they not adhere to?

If only they hadn't signed a security guarantee pact with Russia in return for handing over their nuclear weapons and Russia recognising the massive majority vote for independence in the referendum, including the Donbass. Even Crimea voted for it.

Prigozhin has released an unbelievable video where he talks about the justifications for the war and teh current state of Russian forces facing the counter offensive.  It's about 30 minutes long and, obviously, is in Russian but the war translated accounted is posting parts of it.

Girkin has responded saying that Prigozhin is lying, that the oligarchs opposed the wars in 2014 and since.

The videos are insane, he's basically accusing teh MoD and the President of lying and plundering.  He must calculate they need his fighters so need to leave him alone, although if he is lobbed out of a window the Wagnerites will still be there - what are they going to do, all defect to Ukraine?
