Heart of Midlothian v Aberdeen

I wouldn't really care in all honesty. that's the thing isn't it? It's a football forum and it is populated by a bunch of folk who probably spend far longer than is healthy talking about football online. Some of the folk who are getting all animated and frustrated by me, are not exactly gripping reading themselves. Leith Green has never said anything funny or insightful in the time I've been here for example, not one occasion. Yet there he is following me around commenting every time I post. King Joey? Hardly a fascinating and mature master of prose or wisdom. It's a football forum FFS. Even the lad that was spamming the thread with smilies and wee stars, at least he's not trying to make out he's some kind of top bard of the football forum world. Sheesh, some folk need to get over themselves a wee bit IMO.

Yes indeed

Well aye, anyone trying to put themselves forward as anything other than a jobber on a football forum here probably needs to get over themselves.

However, most folk actually enjoy discussing the football with a bit of petty patter thrown in. The reason most of us come on here and not on a one club forum is because there’s a decent level of Good faith patter to be had with fans of opposition clubs, with the occasional meltdown to keep things interesting.

Your wee tirade last night just makes a thread all about you and whatever point it was you were trying to make. It’s really fucking boring and is seriously much better suited to the one club echo chamber.

Keep this up please, lads. It has the potential to overtake the Livi v Aberdeen thread.

I haven't checked the Dundee v Livingston thread. Are they going absolutely raging mad because they won that one too?

It’s giving our recent (waterlogged pitch) Dundee v St Mirren thread a run for eye-watering petty point scoring bampottery. I think the Dundee v St Mirren thread started strongly, but this Hearts v Aberdeen one has come onto a game after one of our posters on the Dundee thread received an early red card for suggesting replacing McPake with Muttley might not have been a great idea. Last I heard Div was appealing, hoping to have it downgraded to a yellow. We need all our first team posters for Wednesday’s tough away thread with the Celtic bampots.

I would say your first sentence quite accurately describes the posting of @Leith Greenand his unquenchable need to follow me around giving his opinions on my posts... and I hate to say it, mate but you too. A desperate compulsion to give an opinion on the poster and not the topic.

I enjoy discussing football and giving my opinion on the topics within these pages. I have a positive reputation and apparently "won the day" mid February. That's a positive reputation despite another poster sitting down one day and working forwards from my very first post to my latest and red spotting them all. that is over a hundred times. Now that is the work of an odd person who takes things too seriously. I do not see this level of good faith that you are describing there, or from Leith Green etc. I also do not see how my patter is worse than someone posting wee stars and smilies all over the place. Or a coupe of lines of nothingness and a gif. Meh.

My "wee tirade" as you put it was no worse than anything else that you see on this forum, and in keeping with the posts aimed at me. Pointing out that Aberdeen were shite for a long time after Fergie left? It is hardly earth shattering news, and certainly no more immature nor provocative than someone posting threads about twirling scarves or the like. Most of the posts on here are boring, including your own. I think you and a couple of other posters just really need to get over yourselves in all honesty, because it seems like you want to dish a bit out but you can't really take it back. All just my opinion mind.

Indeed, yet a fair few posters seem determined to place a value on mine. Needless in my opinion, but then that costs me nothing to say.

If you think my posts are boring then you’re probably absolutely right. I have no issue with that. Well done on your positive rep, I am impressed.

But we’re done with this wee debate and I’ll just keep out of your way in future on here as clearly the rest of the forum loves your work.

Well done. Even in that post you managed to bring judgement of my posts in to it. You could have just left it at the first sentence and f****d off tbh.

If that's what you think you're not reading them right.

How so? I have one poster who had sat down and negatived every post I had made on the forum at that point. Over 100 times. That fits the criteria.

I have a stalker in @Leith Greenwho comments on the value of every post I make.

I have the guy that I have just had a debate with who put three or four paragraphs together judging my contribution.

I would say I was bang on the money tbh. All this judgement, and yet I do not have a negative reputation, and I get my fair share of appreciative rep clicks. Maybe folk just need to stop seeing themselves as arbiters of what does and does not qualify as worthwhile content and let folk just get on with it? Crazy as that sounds.
