New or Returning Clubs for 2022/23 and the Future of Division Four

If Threave are moving it makes sense to me to come in at the bottom. It'll be easier to compete off the bat, and even then I still expect the dregs of the West to be stronger than more or less all of the SOS League barring 1 or 2 possibly. Maybe some of the Division 4 teams would water it down a bit, but nonetheless you're better off on a competitive playing field IMO than shifting sideways and getting slaughtered by the Darvels and Polloks.  Also if Threave demonstrate they can be competitive I think you'll see teams like Gretna and Dalbeattie once they inevitably drop consider going to the West instead.

If you're a SOS team with ambition and resources you're better finding your level in the West than resigning yourself to a glorified amateur league for eternity and its better for all of us if these teams gradually integrate into the West. Let those who just want to operate in a local amateur league do so.
