If you’re close to Neil, which is a good shout btw, you’ll be aware that at least one of our committee has been visiting Brentford and learning from their model. Seems to be doing well down in London though? I believe his old chum Stephen Pressley is working in a development role at Brentford also.

No connection to Neil other than him being my favourite player the first season I watched us - the 99/00 title year - and keeping an eye on his career since. I appreciate it is wanting two plus two to equal five every time we have a vacancy,  and that he is doing well at Brentford, but he'll want to go out on his own eventually surely, and there might be some heartstrings we can tug at. The fact that Brentford does have elements of a model we could learn from makes it a good fit, and not just an emotional one.

Wonder how much the CAS / Elite status stuff has to do with the improbably young squad. There’s some mention about appearance numbers being a success measure - maybe we’re trying to game that (instead of trying win games of football).

Despite the manager kill-count, we’re still a pretty attractive proposition and I WOULD FUCKING HOPE we’ll have learned some lessons from the past 2 years about the balance of youth dev / first team commitments.

More info to come this week but for the love of god, can it not be ChatGPT / LinkedIn word-diarrhoea. Something along the lines of the RV interviews but with Dempster is the least we should expect.

On Veldman, I really feel for the dude. Hung out to dry, can’t see how it was ever going to work with that squad.

I got the impression Veldman lost the dressing after the horrendous late substitutions against Raith. Wasn’t at yesterday’s game but felt there was a lack of application against thistle which up till that point had always been there. Still believe Veldman would be better suited to running the academy but that doesn’t seem an option now.

We can have both... to a certain extent. The "model" is the only way a professional Queen's Park can survive and be sustainable in the future considering the fact that the largest home crowd we can consistently at

Who do you think you are to come here and teach Queen's Park, the club which basically invented the game, how to play football? The more I think about it, the angrier I get. I hope the club doesn't pull another stunt like this because I would like to think we have plenty of managerial talent and skill in this country.

Our best days are about 130 years behind us and Scottish club sides are a joke in Europe. What Scottish managers currently looking for a job would you be keen on?

This, all day long. We need leadership and we need answers that go beyond a bullshit statement. Nothing over the past few years suggests that this is likely to happen.

A few years ago I went to a couple of the QP ladies matches. They weren't very good. Today they beat Kilmarnock and are 10 points clear at the top of the league. Congratulations to the players and staff for the massive improvement.  Now let's see what can be done with the men.

From the match report…

Fox was in the concourse at half time on crutches with a moon boot on. Looked to be more than a slight knock, unless the crutches etc are just precautionary.  I didn't speak to him but I saw some of our fans did, so possibly someone can fill in some more info.

I've been to quite a few games this season, including this afternoon. Had to fight for it today against a physical Kilmarnock side? But they earned their victory, despite having one player sent off in the 2nd half. They have been very good all season, and are well deserving of their league position.

They also deserve the chance to play at Lesser infront of a reasonable crowd, but I won't hold my breath.

Huge game next Saturday with, other results depending, a loss sending us bottom with Morton and Arbroath having a game in hand.

Time to see just exactly how much RV was responsible for or whether indeed it's just simply the fact the players aren't up to it, (or up for it).  I still believe there's a decent core of players there, Spong, Turner, Thomson, Thomas, Robson and, Ferrie/McKenna when fit are, IMHO, more than good enough for this league.  I also believe that there are very decent players in MacPherson, Tizzard & Paton that are screaming to get out.  It will be an extremely interesting game.

January transfer window opens in three weeks and I'm doubting whether we will have a) a permanent manager in place to make a call on who comes and who goes, or b) whether we actually have the funds everyone says we do to make any acquisitions that will actually improve the squad, rather than just adding numbers.  I fear a repeat of last year where Connor Shields and Euan Henderson added very little.

On that note, I caught in passing RV's pre match interview and cant recall anything being said about Fox being absent yesterday?

Both Morton and Abroath play their games in hand during the week, so it's no impossible that we'll be bottom by Wednesday night.

One the games I watched was against Celtic at Lesser. It was my granddaughter's first ladies match.

I'm hearing from a good source tonight that malky is the man.Do  think that's good or bad? I don't know. But I'f its to stabilise our status in the championship then yes.But again let's look at that shit show yesterday, we always seem to blame it on our young players/squad. Should we maybe also look at out experience players, ie our captain, yes he talks well after we get pumped, but what does he actually do in games? He's no pace, never takes a man on,he's only 28.He puts in 1 cross into the box and the other useless 15 are hopeless "dinks" that go straight into their keepers hands.Paton?where do we start on this one?His 4 goals in 1 game against  elgin are buying this guy time.He can't trap a bag of sand.Dont start me on the left back ,he's slept at every goal we concede at his side.We all moan and shout about our young squad, have a look at Airdries average age, there's is younger than ours.

If we are blaming everything on  our "young players ", who are we blaming?.mcpherson?bannon?reid?

Let'go to midfield, the 3 Jack's,are they still classed as young?

Then we have our captain, who's a very good speaker after games, but does f**k all during games..

Sorry not for me.i bought into the beuker model ,promote from within but when you have senior players passing the buck, the games fucked

If it’s Malky, we’re giving up any pretence of “values.” Even when you get away from the subject of him being a massive bigot, his record since leaving Cardiff is 36 wins from 132 games. Guy is an utterly abject football manager, as well as a c**t.

Please spare me the QP heritage guff as well. The fact that his old man is in with the bricks is entirely irrelevant in terms of qualifying him for the job, as is the fact he played for us thirty years ago.

Based upon the full squad, your team is almost 2 years younger than Airdrie’s.

I’m a socialist, so I’m completely with you on the House of Lords. However, there’s a world of difference between disagreement on political structures and being discriminatory against other human beings because of their race, religion, gender etc.

I agree totally pal what you're saying, but when we're talking about anyone who takes their place in that fkn house of Lords, and especially when that person is from Glasgow, and proclaims to be for the working people, the guy is a fuckin hypocritical charlatan

Don’t disagree with you. I’ve made my peace with the fact that most people who sit in board rooms, or control them from outside in this case, are unlikely to share my politics. I can deal with that. Discrimination is just the most base level human decency, though. Even some people with what I’d view as shit politics possess it.

If we’re going to represent the community, we’re representing a broad range of people who’ll agree and disagree robustly on certain issues. That doesn’t include racists or bigots, though. That should be self-exclusionary from any decent organisation. What other clubs do is a matter for them, but it’s a massive, massive no from me. I really struggle with the rehabilitation thing in this instance as well. The guy was forty-two years old and not a daft kid with a head full of broken bottles.
