It’s confusing to me why Tom Cairney never gets a look in for Scotland. Been a key player for a fringe EPL/championship team for 5 years, but he had two Scotland caps years ago and never been back since

Was he not mobile enough ?

If including u23 squads since Banks is there then Matthew Craig at Spurs, Aaron Pressley at Brentford, McKinstry and McCarron at Leeds, Mebude at Man City, Marc Leonard at Brigton, and Kieron Bowie at Fulham. Probably a few more Ive missed.

Only established players , in their team or in the Scotland team eg Patterson

He was fucking shite in both games. That probably didn’t help.

I’m not sure that performances in a couple of friendlies against North American sides 4-5 years ago is a valid reason to leave a pretty successful player out. Surely he’d at least be on a par with the likes of Campbell and Ferguson in the pecking order

Was captured at the Fulham training ground during the Euros telling the camera man how it’s “coming home” so I assume that’s part of it.

He’s also quite shite.

I’m not sure I have a massive issue with Scotland players who are English by birth supporting the England team. In fact, I’d be pretty surprised if the likes of McTominay and Adams WEREN’T supporting England in the latter stages of the euros.

I think there was a question over his commitment soon after those 2 caps as well. Can't recall the details but I think he withdrew several times in a row spuriously.

There’s a difference between hoping a team win to actively piping up in the public eye against your nations greatest rivals.

Do you reckon when Billy Brown was employed by Hibs he was seen actively cheering Hearts on to victory?
