jimbaxters
With such a short space of time between the end of last season and the beginning of this one, what happened to the old argument against summer football that time was need to reseed the pitches. Has any of that been done?

Has any of that been done? We had two months off, some teams have been idle since March.

Has any of that been done? As with any sweeping statement there's always more than one factor at play. Not everyone finished at the official end of the season. Rise of artificial pitches, floodlights, and fixture lists. Allows for a more balanced strain on grass pitches during the course of a season, so they don't always get as bad by the end. Depending on how far back you go. Part of that relief is that clubs don't train on their own pitch with the increase of alternative training sites. Overall improvements in maintenance techniques and equipment. Even more than usual due to COVID, pitches were giving more of a breather than normal. And just because teams are back playing games, doesn't mean they're playing at home. See a team with a string of away friendlies? Decent chance they're giving their pitch more time. Ultimately, there's going to be a mixture of good and bad pitches as always. Edited July 11, 2022 by FairWeatherFan

Craig fae the Vale
Vale of Leven 3-3 Glenvale. Lots of positives to take especially given there were ten players unavailable.

AM-1
Unfortunately I work away on a rota and can't find any news on signings at my team Cambuslang other than the ex Brechin lad, the CF who signed then ended up at Glenafton and a few from last season. Cambys socials aren't the best so it's hard to follow the teams progress.
