They did lose the league because all of their players were all off the park celebrating the winner when Syngenta equalised. I’m not sure you can say they weren’t good enough 😂

That was hilarious though.

Not true. It may have cost them promotion, it didn't cost them the league.

They’ll probably still do well next year, you’d imagine looking to win the league. But it’s a case of how do they replace a 70 goal striker and I’m assuming the lad Paterson will be away back to Arbroath too? Surely his development will be massively hindered by spending another year at that level.

The league wasn’t lost on that game we all know it was over the season and over the season they weren’t good enough. Different story this year but how will they fair next season with 2 of the front 3 moving on ??

It’s a fair point. I’m sure they’ll last the season and not just Jack it half way through at least.

Easy to attract good players to a club that is successful?

It was a surprise they didn't finish ahead of Whitburn or Syngenta last season but fair play to them. Definitely a team going places

Hopefully Armadale can follow them as their improvements off the park over the last year or so have been nothing short of spectacular and have managed to keep a very loyal and supportive (most of the time!) crowd which the others around them seems to have lost recently

Some set up at volunteer park

The club and all involved should be proud of the spectacular improvements

Coupled with tonight's scoreline West Calder's biggest headache may be Goal Difference. Given the risk the scholars will beat Pumpherston and Livingston Utd they may well need not only to beat Bathgate and Fauldhouse but handsomely.

Advantage college.

It's difficult to suddenly start scoring extra goals. We have seen that down here in SOS where Creetown weren't scoring freely and Vale were. Although it didn't count in the end it would have been a factor in Creetown's psyche.

Took in tonight's West Calder v Bathgate match... what a thoroughly enjoyable match it was. 2-1 win in the end for West Calder, but Bathgate were unlucky not to get anything from the game... outstanding performance by them considering they have nothing left to play for, so full marks for the attitude shown.

Tremendous entertainment and value for money... both sides hit the woodwork, both sides missed glorious chances and both keepers each made a couple of great saves... all for £3!

Was a nice night too with wide skies, which makes it a nice, scenic wee ground... perfect wee set up for the level the side are at!

Only gripe is... the people of West Calder... where were they? Almost everyone at the match was from Bathgate. West Calder are a very decent side and deserve much more interest from the locals!

Well they managed it today, with added bonus of the scholars losing... which makes next week v Bo'ness Athletic more of a free hit than a damage limitation exercise (EDIT: since if do enter last day tied on 60pts then West Calder will have to win... College bound to have better GD).
