Valentino Bolognese
Nae trains means that the hordes of barely-intelligible mutton-munching oil barons will be reduced to a trickle for this hotly-unanticipated Cinch clash. Davidson to wheel out the same starting lineup as last Saturday with the only change being this week's messiah Daniel Philips. Until he loses his man halfway into the Aberdeen half is subbed off and immediately loaned out for two years to Jeanfield Swifts under-14s. Boldly predicting a 3-3 draw here, with all goals scored in the last 25 seconds because that's how it works this year apparently. 3 penalties saved by Goodwin's surprise last-minute signing, Zander Clark. Only kidding. Imagine us being in the opposition box 3 times in a match, never mind getting a penalty. Edited August 18, 2022 by Valentino Bolognese Wrong month. FFS. Edit again, wrong home team. There's a reason I don't start match threads.

kingjoey
For the second week in a row we will have opposition fans saying how shite their team is, this week St Johnstone, and how many Aberdeen are going to beat them by. At least we won’t get that shit next week from Livi fans.
PSJ.84
I’m feeling unusually optimistic and I’ve not a clue where it’s come from

We have one system, are too negative, too defensive and don't score goals.

Widge
The one thing we may have in our favour was Godwin’s fascination with matching up to us when he was at St Mirren. For whatever reason he always changed their shape to play something that didn’t work and the players weren’t familiar with. Either way this is my first competitive game for a variety of reasons this season, so fully expecting to be disappointed once again.
PauloPerth
1-1. Saints to go ahead when playing fairly well, before deciding to sit back and protect our lead. Aberdeen to equalise late on.

Yep, apart from the new manager bit, much the same as Motherwell fans were saying before the game.
Jamie_B
We still don't seem to want to sign a striker so we'll still be relatively blunt up front. Otherwise I can't imagine we'll be much different to the XI that started at Ibrox with the exception of Philips for the injured Macpherson. I'd prefer May in for Bair.
mizfit
Aberdeen seem a peculiar side this season, obviously they have goals in the side, but defence and goalkeeping seems suspect. Would hope this is the game for Bair to kick on as I can’t see why he doesn’t start. Same XI as Ibrox, with Philips in instead of Macpherson.
betting competition
Last season we helped St Johnstone stay up with us gifting them 7 points. Aberdeen only won 2 league away games last season and the last time we won was in Perth on December 2021. Everything was looking good until last week which was a horrendous performance against Motherwell and I can't see us play as bad as that again (if we do then we may be in for a long hard season). Aberdeen has spent a lot of money on team and with 11 new players they need time to gel together so could be a good time to play us although noticed that St Johnstone has taken in 10 players. How is Considine getting on? I have a fear that Considine, Stevie May, Montgomery will score on Saturday. tarapoa
Considine will fancy a set piece goal or two here, given we have already conceded two from corners in the first three games.

Bogbrush1903
I'm thinking that 2-1 to St Johnstone is favourite but then I ponder that we look like we can score more than once but can St Johnstone score three times? Cursed it now but I think they can't so I'm going to say St Johnstone 2-2 Aberdeen or a Desmond (TuTu) as the scoreline is more commonly known... ...although this feels like recently that it always ends St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen but I feel like there are goals for both teams nowadays when Aberdeen come to town Who plays down the left hand side for St Johnstone? That's where the game will be won, lost or drawn... Edited August 18, 2022 by Bogbrush1903
