Not sure what Rangers making the final says about the standard of the rest of the league to be frank, they didn’t have to beat Hibs, Aberdeen or Dundee United to get there.

🙃 Yeah everybody is shite and hibs average attendance is 18500. 🤣

Have they replaced the word 'pumping' with 'losing' again?

Funny how when Hibs lose a derby 3-0 it's a pumping and yet when Hearts lose 8-1 on aggregate to Fiorentina and 7-1 to the Istanbul mob it's just losing instead.

Flattered that you hold HMFC in such high regard. ☺️

Keen observers have noted all season that Aberdeen are absolute pap who were always going to slide down the table, but you can only beat what's in front of you, so well done to the team tonight. Results since the World Cup continue to be excellent, and Hearts' target now should be setting down a real marker with a good points total and getting third tied up as quickly as possible.

Three clean sheets in January is very pleasing, and this is a great way to go into the biggest game of the month on Sunday.

Some team, the Hearts.

Fair play, you called it. There was a fair bit of hype at the start of the season which seemed to be based on them signing a bunch of shiny new players and hammering some plumbers, but I thought they were maybe starting to click in October/November. I do still think they've got some decent players going forward but they're soft-centred as f**k and a couple of sore defeats to the OF have sent them into a tailspin. They've already lost as many games against non-OF teams in 6 months as we have in 18.

I also felt some of that early hype was based on the idea we were lucky last season. Aberdeen fans seemed to be some of the biggest proponents of the "if it wasn't for Craig Gordon" cope for whatever reason. Quite funny to see us give them an absolute skelping without him.

As for us, I was pretty confident we'd pick up and took some stick for saying so back in October. Even ignoring the injuries, we were getting the results we needed to at that point - we'd just had significantly harder fixtures and there was a lot of noise around the gubbings in Europe. And despite the "once they got players back" narrative that's going around at the moment, our injury situation now is about as bad as it was then. The difference is a run of winnable fixtures and the fact the stand-ins like Sibbick and Ginnelly have really stepped up their game.

Still two huge games coming up before the end of the month which have the potential to puncture the feel-good factor. If we can win both we'll be in a brilliant position.

Not reading too much into this game, other than the fact when Goodwin's Dons win or lose, they often seem to do so spectacularly.  Having a ludicrously imbalanced squad was always going to bite us - and as erratic as Stewart is, at least he is a defender who does basic defender things most of the time like win tackles and headers. Not having any kind of replacement to call on is bordering on incompetence at all kinds of levels in the club.

Had written it off after Sunday - as both of these fixtures so far have come on the back of stamina-sapping tough 'away' matches three days previously for one of the teams.  Maybe they need some coaching from Andy Murray on how to deal with that.

There has been a lot of fun this season at times watching AFC - but being a grumpy old b@stard, I do like defenders that can defend.  Coulson can be like Roberto Carlos going forward, but as a LB makes Jamie McGuilken look like Paolo Maldini.

Disappointing that this means Hearts will likely run away with third without any kind of fight for the second season running.  Not sure where AFC go from here, as our only formula for relative success in recent times was the pragmatism of McInnes, which was a turn off for many of our fans.
