It's that time of year again when the draw for the North of Scotland's premier summer football tournament is released! An unexpected, but deserved, winner last year in High Ormlie Hotspur beating front runner Pentland Utd on penalties in a Caithness derby at a sun drenched Harmsworth Park. Can they do it again this year? It'll be a tasty start, given they've drawn each other in the preliminary round... A bumper entry this time round with several new teams, several old faces returning and the usual top clubs all meaning another cracking competition beckons. Going up to Lewis on Friday 7th for a week but the new fixtures aren’t up yet for the LHFA. There’s been a slight change to the website in the last couple of days but still blank. I think the clubs must have them but not the public.
The earliest I’ve been at a game was 11th April last year. Might catch a Highland Amateur Cup game in August if the dates fall right.

I went to Ardersier vs G16 yesterday. A very enjoyable game in fantastic weather. G16 played well, but there was an obvious gulf in quality and fitness between the two teams.

Ardersier vs Avoch in the next round should be interesting. Apparently Avoch now have Connor Gethins and Steven Mackay on their books.

I fancy Fortrose & Rosemarkie Union v Conon Bridge, hourly 25 min bus from Sneckie and 2 pubs near the ground, the Anderson looks "interesting". :unsure2:

I can confirm it is 😂

The one in Rosemarkie is no far down the hill the other way is meant to be really good too

Anderson is alright, the food is decent. The Plough is a cracking pub, particularly if you're into real ale.

My mate is the Ardersier keeper.

That would be to underplay it somewhat.

There were a few good home goals but the G16 goalkeeper, despite his girth and goals against, was good value.
