Morton v Accies 11-4-23

Recommended Posts

Good to get a first win since February. Also a good result in a game we 'should' win, for once.

That aside, this was another game with an uninspiring starting eleven. Hopefully one win (in seven games) doesn't affirm that this team is working, and some of the dead weight gets dropped on Saturday.

Two subs changed the game. Dreadful energy sapping game we could and should have scored more than two in the end up.

McGrattan really has to start games it's as simple as that. Ali Crawford just hasn't settled at all  - no idea why as it's not as if he's a bad player.

Miller tonight was actually quite good in the 2nd half. Brilliant save from the keeper denied him a goal.

Hard fought game but 3 points in the bag and we're still in the mix

Abomination of a second half performance. Those were two very winnable games we've pissed against the wall on days where Arbroath failed to win. We need to take advantage of dominant spells in games as the subs are consistently absolutely honking so all we can do is get a wee break while on top and cling on for dear life thereafter. I think we've now been in the bottom two for six months so really do deserve to stay there.

Accies had a dominant spell last night?

First half was dire - a better side would have punished us for the way we kept giving the ball away. The subs were spot on and turned the game as we looked like a team again. Scored moments after they came on and the two subs combined for a lovely second goal.

There was a bit of a commotion in the Accies dugout at Robbie's booking - someone trying to get at Millen, maybe. Anyone see what happened?

I would say we were the better team in the first half, but the second half proved that that was just Morton underperforming. Our press was OK and we tended to get into the box pretty well.

Apparently MacKinnon took umbrage with Muirhead suggesting he's a bit tubby. I didn't see it though.
