But an animal rights group says plans to rehome her to a farm park near Dumfries would make her a "spectacle".

Sheep on a farm? That'll never catch on.

Not sure why they're worried about the sheep being taken to a petting zoo..

Since Monday, supporters of Animal Rising have been in the Highlands of Scotland preparing to rescue ‘Britain’s Loneliest Sheep’. The individuals involved found a way to reach the sheep now known as Fiona. They spent the past five days in a row getting closer to Fiona ahead of a rescue planned for this Sunday, 5th November, intending to take her to Tribe Animal Sanctuary near Glasgow.

The rescue was arranged in collaboration with an adjacent landowner with connections to the Royal Family, whose name we agreed not to release.

This morning, the landowner facilitated a separate, covert operation to take Fiona to live at a well-known, but currently unnamed, Scottish petting zoo [1]. The Scottish SPCA were in attendance and have not objected to this plan despite admitting previously that Fiona will be ‘fearful’ of people and find interactions ‘distressing’ after two years alone [2].

Local Animal Rising supporter, Jamie Moyes, said:

“We are of course pleased Fiona is no longer stranded, but it is completely unacceptable that she would be taken to a ‘petting zoo’ when she has already suffered for the last two years. We reached an agreement with the landowner for her to be rescued and taken to a safe and peaceful sanctuary, but he went behind our back to make a spectacle of her instead.

Petting zoos can be stressful for any animal, but especially for one that has lived alone for the last two years and will likely now be mobbed by daily visitors owing to her celebrity status. The right thing to do would be to allow her to live out the rest of her life safely at Tribe Animal Sanctuary, who already agreed to home her.”

I'm with the Animal Nutjobs here. Dalscone is pretty close to Palmerston. She might hear the constant booing as QoS lose yet another game, become depressed, and wish she was back at the bottom of the cliff.

Just hand it over to a couple of Irish priests for a week and it'll be right as rain.

Well, it worked for Chris on yon Father Ted episode.

Why have the moved the sheep the entire length of the country, I'm not sure rehomed to Dumfries is anyone's idea of sanctuary.

It's far away from Aberdeen,  the perfect sanctuary for it.

Some of the reports got mixed up with the location because the first person to spot her was Jillian Turner, a kayaker from Brora.

Yeah that's why I was thrown as some reports had that it was near brora and as she turned into cromarty firth, but brora would be Dornoch firth. I couldn't work out cliffs near brora that looked like that.

Hence I went to our very own Google maps to ask.

A petrol station is losing more than £100,000 a MONTH due to the gridlock enforced over the Station Hotel safety works.

The BP garage which sits on Station Bridge Road in the shadow of the crumbling relic has seen their takings crash by an eye-watering amount

Furious traders operating in the shadow of the fire-ravaged Station Hotel – have blasted council chiefs over a lack of support as their businesses ‘struggle to survive’.

Shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes and takeaways have stood together after being plunged into crisis in the wake of the fallout over a huge inferno at the historic hotel

Hang on a minute - the one on the left and the one in the middle of the new one are double dipping!

No wonder they're not making any money if the staff are all standing about outside taking photos.
