Also find them a team that if they can't blow you away quickly, get frustrated. Someone who's stuffy and awkward when they need it (like Buckie or Broch) will beat them.

Aye and I think there’s still a tonne of games between the ‘5 Bs’ still to be played actually. So there’s going to be points dropped from those games.

Aberdeenshire Cup R2 pits lightless Deveronvale v pitchless Buckie.

Venue remains unconfirmed for this midweek's tie AFAICS.

Scurrilous rumours on FN claim Forres, Huntly, Lossiemouth and/or Turriff were asked to host but declined.

Surely now the sensible decision should be that Buckie play the rest of their home games at their opponents like Fort William had to .

It's being played at Longside Juniors.

SHFL clubs seem willing to help with league fixtures but due to the Shire Cup being an additional (and regional) competition, I'm not surprised clubs - North FA ones in particular - aren't interested.

Fair come down for this fixture tho. Once played in front of more than 2000 folk as a league decider now being played in the middle of nowhere in front of a crowd of almost no one.

Fair play to Longside, a proper club.

Vale/Buckie crowds were never that big before the early 2000s. Can remember going to Victoria Park late 90s Robbie Browns debut and the crowd was just over 100. Can remember a few times in the mid 90s Buckie not taking any away support to prp. Changed days now.

Vale v Buckie is thee derby in the HL now, stewards, segregation etc.

Particularly at Buckie.

Being played by two clubs without a functioning ground between them at a junior park. It's something alright.

Shit happens Shaker,in Vales instance, couple of storms and it's floodlights doon.

Talk of they won't be up and running till preseason.

Buckie's pitch is the new "Claggan Park" giving Fort a run for there money in that department.

Aberdeen v Keith, having been reversed to Keith, has now been moved to Balmoor... which gives the novel situation of 2 ties in & around Peterhead tomorrow night - neither involving anybody from near Peterhead.

The hard on the Highland League has for these insignificant cups over actual league fixtures is weird to say the least.

I work with a Strathspey player and know a couple of Clach ones and they all tell me the players can't be arsed with cup games and want the league games to be the priority.

Unlucky not to take the game into penalties, scored two cracking goals. Was a good team spirit tonight which was lacking in the two previous games.

Hopefully the Vale can crack on next season, there is shoots of improvement this season.

Floodlights need sorted 1st in the preseason however .

Actually enjoyed the wee jolly down to longside, something different from the usual.

Floodlights won’t be cheap to fix. Might get a few new ventures midweek towards the end of the season, good wee set up at Longside there pitch was better than some of the highland league pitches.

To the surprise of no one, tonight's fixture between 2 of the 3 troublemakers, Strathspey and Brora,  is off due to a frozen pitch.

Might head along to Clach v Forres tonight.

Grant Street has passed inspection, good to go.

Decent crowd at Grant Street for a February Wednesday night, did well to get the game on, congrats to the ref for allowing it. Another game where Clach found exactly how to play it for a while but ended getting hammered.

We know you do things differently in the HL, but would you not normally play your away games,...erm,...away.
