Tranent well deserving of the 3 points for their much more clinical nature when their chances came, but overall the game was far from what one might expect if just seeing the scoreline. Cumbernauld the better side in the first half but didn't take their chances, whereas Tranent took two of theirs to have the lead at the break. Even start to the second period, but when the visitors got their third after 15 minutes or so, they effectively killed the game, & then put a nice polish on the result with two quick goals late one. Tranent with the bigger squad & more quality to bring into the game from the bench was evident, & Cumbernauld looking like they'll need to add to theirs, especially from a goalscoring perspective with Billy Mortimer remaining their only player to find the net so far this season. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tranent fans on a previous thread insisted that there was not one individual who was the main man, not sure how much that was believed. If this guy is the benefactor, It leads to some interesting questions; -Is he still funding the club going forward but simply taking a step back from day to day involvement? -Is he perhaps leaving funding in place to honour the contracts in place for this season, but scaling back after that? -Is he withdrawing funding immediately, that seems unlikely?
