Seems to be taking a while. Perhaps the wheels have come off. No one else queueing up for the job...

I tell ya it'll be Goodwin.

Celtic implode and play like diddies. On the Southside, their business partners and soul brothers also disintegrate under the Cockney bloke. The partners sink in the league and there's a thriling multi-team battle for the title. Old Firm fans begin to stay at home, the clubs feel the pinch and can no longer even afford to run B teams. Anywhere.

With the league title going to Aberdeen or Edinburgh or Paisley or somewhere, Glasgow's City Centre remains thankfully untrashed when the winner's celebrations kick off.

A man can dream.

RENDAN RODGERS is in line to finally be confirmed as new Celtic boss on Monday.

SunSport understands the Northern Irishman and Hoops chiefs, primarily major shareholder Dermot Desmond, have agreed on terms and conditions of his stunning return to the Parkhead hot-seat for several days.

But it's been about the timing of the announcement which Celtic fans - many of whom have U-turned and are ready to forgive his 2019 walk-out for Leicester City - are now impatient for.

The Treble winners are delighted they've managed to capture Rodgers as a relatively quick replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

Now, barring any last minute hitches, they're 48-hours from confirming the big news

Celtic understandably see it as a statement appointment for their intentions to maintain domestic dominance but also back the 50-year-old significantly for a push at making a Champions League impact.
Rodgers, as SunSport Online revealed, gave Desmond the signal on Tuesday he was ready to come back to Glasgow just over four years from his controversial exit south.

We also then revealed that the former Swansea City and Liverpool boss would once again become Celtic's biggest earning manager in their history - following his sensational 2016 appointment which saw him earn £2.2 million a year.

Now Rodgers will bank in excess of that for a long term deal - likely five years - which will also see him majorly rewarded for success on the home and Euro fronts.

Importantly for Rodgers, he will have coaching stalwart John Kennedy by his side after persuading the highly regarded 39-year-old, also a close friend, to turn his back on any lingering hope of being reunited with Postecoglou at Spurs.

Ooft, likely 5 yrs deal, can’t wait to see what the fee is when he leaves after 6 months like the diddies keep telling us.

Think this is the first time we have offered more than a 12 month rolling contract to anyone other than O’Neil.

Well played Nicholson if that’s the case.

Brendan was put on to a 4 year deal I'm sure in past which is why we got so much compo. Mowbray also got a long term deal after we paid compensation for him and it's really because of him we were reluctant to do so again after we had to pay him off handsomely.

Yay we have a winner, and he hasn't even been officially given the job yet. Fans eh, fickle as f**k, hero to zero and back. Pretty good deal to tempt him back.

EPL teams will hardly baulk at giving out 12 Million or so compo if he walks again, but Brendan will get a decent pay out if he sticks around but doesn't manage to live up to expectations domestically, and/or in Europe, and Celtic want to bring in another manager.

Rodgers back  higher wages,  big budget,  champions league football , assurances from board that previous issues are a thing of past

Kennedy staying .

Win win for everyone involved.

Things just got a whole lot harder for rangers next season.

You gave that £9m to Lennon and he brought in shite like Bolingoli and Klimala, and cost you 9 in a row.

Pretty sure i celebrated a quad treble M8 and equalled the great Jock Stein's record plus I think we got more dosh for Klimala than we paid for him.
Your attempt to rewrite history makes you look like a diddy dafty.
