Replays
The timing of an EGM request was ridiculously daft and I was as disillusioned as anybody last Wednesday night. As an owner, I will currently absolutely reject any calls for change until the end of the window and the Crownpoint decision. I may be open to change in the future but certainly not from the usual band of charlatans and opportunists that raise their heads now and again.

Walk Glasgow
I guess Jim Duffy isn't having a going-away bash....or if he is we aren't being invited? Let's hope (nay, pray) he keeps us in mind when scouting for players at his unfortunate new club.

Agreed. It was very interesting and enlightening. It shows how much I'm out of the loop. I was completely in the dark about everything he discussed. It filled a lot of holes for me. It's also interesting that the petitioner's for the EGM and their supporters have never posted on the OS regarding their proposals.

Not an owner anymore so can’t see JA’s post, and I won’t ask for it to be shared with the wider fan base (although it probably should)… but would you say you felt better or worse about the situation?

Ocelot1877
I have had a bit of time to reflect on this whole issue and documented some of my thoughts here Once you see who appears to be the main driving force of this EGM bid, it unfortunately becomes pretty clear as to why they haven’t came to the fore front. Quite frankly there just isn’t a lot of goodwill there and they possibly knew a lot of fans would have instantly ( and in my opinion rightfully so) not engaged with them had they been seen to be the ones spearheading it. It appears they have instead engaged with Clyde fans to act as the spearhead for this movement and to get it going for them. Why they have chosen to do it this way I do not know considering one of the main gripes with the current regime is a lack of communication with fans and an appearance of secrecy. I feel like it’s quite telling that there has been nothing out of their camp since the letter was put in. You would think that for something that has been in the works for so long there would have been a ready to go statement, a plan of what their vision is, who would be a part of the new board. I think judging by the reactions of some posters on here, the announcement of the extra funding from the donor alongside Duffy being shown the door was rather unexpected for them. Maybe this forced the hand a bit however for me that should have made them putting their vision across more important and at the forefront of the movement, right now it seems a bit like they are maybe scrambling around, but these could be because the people who are pulling the strings a bit aren’t the ones at the front spearheading this. It is no secret from my post history that I am all up for a change of leadership at the club. However for me there has to be solid, viable plans put forward. Give me something to make a choice on that I can buy into v the current board. Anything that can sway the Crownpoint decision or give the donor a reason to walk should at the moment be shelved or at the very least accounted for in a takeover or EGM. Finally I would like to point out that I hold absolutely 0 ill feelings towards the fans that have engaged with and signed the EGM letter and engaged with this movement, at the end of the day they are all passionate Clyde fans who want to see a thriving club and a on field product to be proud of. This is something that we all want, and it’s understandable to me how this situation has came about. I would hope that other Clyde fans would show them some kindness at this time when it would be easy/predictable to react in a different manner. For the next wee while until we know the result of the Crownpoint bid and can see how the donations are getting used, what happens in the dugout maybe a we need a bit of fan unity. This gets my goat as well - I'm a former owner, I buy my season ticket and travel to (most) away games and yet someone who lives abroad but donates £60 p/a gets to know little slivers of incredibly important info that I don't? Such a bizarre model.

Such a bizarre model. I agree. The club belongs to all whether "owners" or not. Too much is kept from non owners, I suspect to add value to the "ownership" cost. However, John Alexander isn't a board member so his post is as a private individual. Edited August 23, 2023 by haufdaft
BullyWeeStonehouse
It’s clear things need to change at the top and in the boardroom but the lack of info with the call for an EGM and who is on board and who would step up to the board and as chairman ,should they take control, is concerning. It would get my vote if there was experience in running a football club there but as it stands nobody knows if that’s the case.
Harry Haddock
It would appear that The Glasgow Branch Clyde Supporters’Club are being used to drive forward this initiative. Whilst change is needed this is not the time .Wait until we hear what the outcome re Crownpoint is.
same_ol_g35
When is the EGM going to be set? I got an email saying my pending ownership cannot be processed as no new shares will be made until the EGM business is sorted. Which I totally get with an ownership vote on the horizon.
