Stirling Albion Season 24/25 Thread

If you read my post i respect all opinions... I mentioned twice that I'm 100% behind Maybury & would like for him to bring much needed stability to the club on the park as I'm really worried about this season upcoming...

I still stand by 100% that Dunn thought he had the Campbells on the way... that was his trigger if you pardon the pun to oust DY.... then everything fell into place for him to allow the exodus to follow ... once the Campbells decided to remain at East Fife then Jefferies stepped away from that involvement...

Dunn was happy to let the dressing room go...no more unrest..questions asked from management team or the players...... Pab's going to Cowdenbeath on a player coach role..... given his service,, knowledge,, standing in the dressing room, wouldn't it have been ideal to soften the blow with the managerial status to retain Pab's in a similar player coach role to help with transition period..leader..captain .title winner... or was Dunn happy to let him go with others following in droves without any further details other than social media accounts....

Speaking of accounts...as  mentioned @BB_Bino the most successful League Cup run..tv revenue, sell outs against Falkirk twice & Aberdeen...extra extended hospitality (twice by my family last season) & sold out every week..... we still lose money....

Were is the transparency.. accountability.. questions asked but no response...the deafening silence

Mr Dunn & his spin doctors dodging any responsibility for the shambles that we are in the middle of..... remembering that this is OUR club....the supporters...

I repeat again Maybury will have my 100% support.... the board & trust will never have my confidence or belief...

Of course all these sites, questions, queries get back to them...they ain't stupid...they wait only until the need to give a bland nothing statement to dampen the flames of this mess they are responsible for... No matter how the situation came about with leaks to the Daily Record i think we would all agree Tiff didn't deserve to be on the end of that disaster & how it played out..

I will support the team every week at Forthbank & away except for the previous mentioned...I  just can't do those places anymore 🙈

We all have a voice.. We don't necessarily always agree, I'm 100% behind Maybury in this tough job ahead 💪

We deserve better than this & again it's just my opinion

I've long known the level of frustration that comes of trying to get truth out of any of our new joint rulers Beepee.   @BB_Bino's post is something I wouldn't argue with.  Even including that we have to move on.  As ever, no official admissions, but no official denials. Too many  leaks from too many people to risk the latter.  That will just have to do.

As I have said before, we're stuck with it.  So just hope they start selling a Binos line in KY jelly at the club shop.  We'll all need it.  If it keeps on the way it's been going they'll end up eating each other anyway.  Somebody left the exec to take the fallout from that leak on tiff and nobody likes being set up.

Still, on we go, buoyed up by knowing that Alan Maybury is  being showered with progress with help in rebuilding a largely departed team. I don't know where he'd be without them.  Fully behind our new manager and I'm sure our boards won't mind if I blame them and not him, if  this season is a bloody disaster.

............and through all this, despite having the most successful League Cup campaign since the group stages were introduced, a sold out stadium and being live on the TV against Aberdeen, along with further TV appearances against Cove. 2 near sellouts against Falkirk, the highest season ticket sales in "probably about 10 years", extended hospitality numbers (sold out most weeks according to social media) AND coming off the back of a promotion campaign.....we still managed to lose money!!!

That wasn't a live TV game (not live nationally anyway, Red TV may have shown it), however total prize money for the season was around £160k counting the league placing and the League Cup/Scottish cup payouts. When you add this to most of the above (and there will have been sponsorship too), it's staggering there was such a loss, and probably explains some of the reasons why so many have left, they must have been on silly money for our league.

The staggering financial loss is all part of the silence...no transparency

The entrusted Chairman of OUR football club Mr Alasdair Dunn has treated us like fools... he's a puppet master & a charlatan...he specialises in being slippery

No confidence in him or trust....putting all this behind us is what he's hoping for & wants.... each opinion is fine & again i respect that.....my thoughts about him won't change

from the early days supporting the Bino's with Peter Mckenzie as Chairman & John Smith in the boardroom..they had the respect of the fans..managers they employed.. Alex Smith...John Brogan...Kev Drinks & smokes...Alan Moore to name a few that brought us success

Alan Maybury is going to have a difficult job trying to blend & build a whole new team but will get 100% support & every player who crosses the white line for us in a bino's shirt from the fans I'm sure💪

The upcoming announcement of the backroom staff & raft of new signings in the next couple of weeks should be interesting

Of course it wasn't, it was live on Radio Scotland. Momentary blip as I was typing.

Alex Smith?   You'll give me a facial twitch with that name mate. Guinness book of records, 17 consecutive games without a goal.  Record still stands.  Relegated and not fired.  Oh it hurts, it still hurts.

Under fans owned  everything is about group responsibility though, not one man.  Especially under this working together creation, where you don't know if the dog is wagging the tail, or the tail wagging the dog.  Or is it dog eat dog now?  Who the hell knows?  That's the problem with opportunist revolutions.  The responsibilities of power tends to degrade into  competitive control freaking and repression of dissent.

Am I the only person a little bit concerned that we still haven't heard anything about Geeks re-signing?? I would have thought if he had been offered another, like for like kind of deal, he would have signed it by now. I think we'd all agree that he'd be someone that we would all want in the squad for next season, if not leading it.

Has anybody heard anything regarding it??

Of course not, we don't do communication. Maybe the spokesperson is away to Ibiza for the week.

I think that we are all of the opinion that the incompetent leadership at OUR club tells us absolutely nothing...why should they bother about us....maybe when they want season ticket money from us or hospitality spaces....

I'd love for Geach to stay & hopefully lead us next season....but I'm more thinking we will hear from his personal social media account rather than the club.... remember the last statement said things are progressing well under Kennedy & Bone & we should hear news in the next 2 weeks....so that means we will hear something in 10 days now 🙈😩😡

It's absolutely shocking how they treat us...

100% behind Maybury & the players

No confidence the board or trust

Alasdair Dunn has led us down a shambolic path

Concerned is an understatement. Without him we have precisely zero defenders on our books.  With his service to the club and at this stage in his career, it's hard to imagine Geeks wanting to finish out his career anywhere else.   I have no idea what's going on there, I just hope he is signed back on.

same here.

i'd hoped this would be done by now.

if he doesn't resign, its the worst exit yet.

it isn't just about his abilities, its about what he represents as the longest serving player.

We will not get promoted this year,  we are now in a rebuild phase no matter who the manager was

They clearly threw money at young, which many were crying out for, to get us and keep us up...and he didn't

Read in the Observer today that Maybury has his first training session tomorrow where he will “have the chance to run the rule over his squad”. He should get a right good look at them given he’ll only have 7 senior players!

i'd settle for not being in a relegation battle this season.

when we were first relegated, i hoped we'd be building for another shot at promotion but recent events soon killed that notion.

expectation have been downgraded accordingly.

If he's managed to assemble a coaching team to join in then at least they could have a game of 5s......

Not been on this site for ages, getting worried about finances and lack of info so I asked.

I was sent this link.

Don't know when it was uploaded though.

So...the wage bill was enormous

Was it?  Or was the bonuses bill enormous? Why are bonuses not even mentioned?  Not even as part of the wage bill.  What we are experiencing right now is an urgent player recruitment crisis. I don't see any reference to that in the what's not gone so well part.  I think acknowledging that and sorting that out, is more of a priority than a bloody website.

The more I look at that trust release the more questions arise.   Where is the comparative breakdown on how much paid staff cost us before they took over, against how many positions are paid now and the cost?

Outsourcing ticketing may well be more efficient. Certainly in terms of people not having to get off their arse to do it.  Efficiency is also not blowing cash you don't have to. How much is that efficiency costing relative to before it was outsourced.

Sponsorship is significantly improved?  Improved from before we lost Dron and Dickson, or improved from after?  Detail. Figures. Make an effort!

How financially efficient was sacking a manager with a year to run on his contract?  Cost? Figure?

The projection for this season's profit/loss seems largely based on attendance, sales and hospitality figures from when we were on our way to winning the title in league 2. or in league 1.  Ergo, not a reliable basis for that projection.

The usual buzzwords.  Professionalism. Efficiency and a wish list to die for.  The mass player exodus and the worrying situation we are in hardly smacks of professionalism and efficiency.  Neither does the utter fiasco made of appointing a new manager.  It does however take an exceptional level of brass neck to use those buzzwords at this time.  F...ing outstanding!

Oh I forgot and a fantastic new website coming soon.........,.Nothing to worry about then, the website will cure all ills.
