glensmad
An entertaining friendly match v Johnstone Burgh today. Burgh looked a much-improved side from when we played them towards the end of last season, but I expected that with the level of money being spent there. Aaron Mason will be a big player for Burgh this season. We played ok, could (arguably should) have scored a couple more, but we competed well for the first hour at least. We remain the only team to have beaten Burgh since Murdie took over, which I reminded him of earlier. On now to an equally tough game on Wednesday night v Beith Juniors.

Was a good match, thought the Glens looked decent and well organised at the back. That strike for the Burgh's second goal was a thing of beauty right enough. The game went flat after half time but you guys came back into it well. Once it went to 1-3 the game got away from you. Correct about Aaron Mason, he was impressive today. All the best for the season ahead.

glensmad
A similar story tonight v Beith to our game v Johnstone Burgh. We competed very well first half, had the better chances, hit the bar just before half time, then Beith scored in stoppage time. Beith upped the tempo after the break and our heads went for twenty minutes or so, and suddenly we found ourselves five goals down. Beith looked a big strong squad. Onto another stern test on Saturday now away to St Cadoc's.

glensmad
That was a very encouraging performance from us this afternoon. We matched a very good Premier Division side (St Cadoc's) in every department except for putting the ball in the net once. The Sr Cadoc's goal shouldn't have counted for me, as there was a clear foul on a Glencairn player in the build-up, but the referee chose to ignore it and we paid the price. We took on a very tough schedule of matches, so hopefully we'll see a benefit from that. We were much tighter defensively today and could (arguably should) have won the game on the balance of chances. But now for the real stuff.
