U sound very much like yer man cotter..... he knew all the gossip but told everyone feck all.

Mon the papers

In my position with the club and the league it wouldn't be appropriate for me to name clubs linked with players.

The difference between me and cotter is that cotter claimed he knew everything first before anyone else, but you're right, he never ever divulged anything he claimed he knew until after it was announced. 😉

I wasn't sure what to expect from our first pre-season match tonight, away from home against a top Premier Division side who had already played three games before tonight, and us with half of our squad playing together for the first time.

In the end we lost 2-0, we switched off defensively for five minutes and lost two free headers, but we created some good chances before that and played some decent football. It's minutes into the legs and players getting an understanding that's more important at this stage than the result, although the performance was encouraging.

A game of two halves for us today. First half we looked good and comfortable in our shape, and all the new players were impressing. We should have been well ahead as we dominated, but we weren't ruthless up front and Vale equalised from a defensive error.

Second half, with five changes and an entirely new midfield, we didn't look anywhere near as comfortable in the same shape with different players, so that gives us something to work on. Vale were now well on top.

Our goalie got himself sent off and our centre half went in goal, we changed back to a more traditional shape, and suddenly we were playing better but still passed up some great chances.

Then two goals in two minutes from Vale against our makeshift goalie won them the match.

Vale will do well in Division Two this season. We're a work in progress with 11 new players, but that's understandable after only two games.

On to Wednesday night.....

Good to get our first win of pre-season tonight, although to be fair it's a game we should have been expecting to win.

We were missing 9 players tonight due to injuries and holidays, so a change of shape was forced on us and some players got more game time than they might otherwise have expected.

Dylan Collins' two goals were both excellent, and it was good to see Dylan Henry notching his first goal for the club, always important that a striker breaks his duck quickly.

On to Saturday now and our final warm-up game at home to St Anthony’s.

Pre-season rounded off today with a 2-2 draw with St Anthony’s. We were missing 9 players from the squad due to holidays and injuries, which wasn't ideal. A dozy start to the game by us saw Ants take the lead after 2 minutes, but we worked our way back into the game and got ourselves ahead with 9 minutes remaining, only to lose a late equaliser after giving the ball away cheaply in a dangerous area.

On to the real stuff now.

Fraser Malcolm signed for Clyde

Any info guys

It's a great move for him, we wish him all the best. He was never a regular starter for Glencairn, but I could see he had potential if he got a bit more aggressive about his play. He seemed to do quite well in what was a struggling Rossvale team last season.

It was good to grab a point right at the death this afternoon and what a strike it was from Ryan McManus ! We shot ourselves in the foot twice in the first half and put ourselves right up against it at 2-0 down after 24 minutes, but we never gave up and got our reward with a piece of brilliance in the 93rd minute.

Interestingly, we only had one player in our starting line-up today who were in the starting line-up for the Scottish Junior Cup Final.

That was a very pleasing performance from us tonight and you could see the confidence beginning to come in the young squad in the style of play that Joe and Billy are asking from them, it's good to watch at times.

We really should have had the game out of sight by half time and missed three real sitters, but the second goal reasonably early after the break gave us that bit of comfort and we were solid defensively with the return of some important players.

On to another tough test on Saturday, away to Drumchapel United.
