Players in the first team and the U20s are on the same types of contracts either amateurs or professional so the U20s job is to make the first team or be called up when they are short at any of the divisions including up and the Lowland league

Mr Marsland must have a fat wallet brimming with cash to spare. Good to see Knightswood sticking to their principles. Players have signed a contract. End of story.
ssimon
7 hours ago, Tinsel said: Lot of rumours flying about let me tell you all what I know as fact The ex head coach of Knightswood football club a Stevie Marsland as you all know resigned last weekend citing he was taking up the vacant post at St Peter's. Within a day 12 players submitted that they wanted to leave Knightswood fc to go to St Peter's ,leaving 3 signed first team players. Knightswood FC informed the players that their registrations,/contracts were being held and hoped players would stay and honour their registrations as there were only 4 games left.unfortunatley all re stated that they wanted to leave. Knightswood FC informed the players that they were not releasing them as is their right. Knightswood football club then received notification from 7 of the players that their intention would be to play with Dumbarton Accies FP in the Caledonian league. They were informed that they could not play for 28 days which would mean after 19April 2024 and that they could not play for another wosfl team.. In the meantime one of players informed an official of Knightswood that Stevie Marsland would not be taking up the position of manager of St Peter's until the new season but helped facilitate an amateur team come in with their manager to fulfil rest of St Peter's fixtures because as he felt as he couldn't sign players from Knightswood FC he didn't want to come in without them so brokered a deal with St Peter's to facilitate his wishes. Allegedly the ex player told Knightswood that the ex manager had been speaking to all players for about a week and a half asking them to go with them. Mr Marsland has now employed a solicitor to try and have players released which knightswood have been informed of and Knightswood FC have reported the matter to The governing body who are aware of the situation.. Tony A-mr marsland was leaving in 4 games as kwood weren’t keep in him B-mr marsland and his staff are now at St Peters C-no lawyer has been instructed to so stop talking pish D- tony if you gave stevie a fne rather than post pish on social media then you would know more of the truth E- your 20,s are a shambles, your 2007,s are a shambles and now the first team are also There is a common denominator in all of this and you know who it is Stevie has no axe to grind with anyone at kwood and has not taken any players apart from his own Son The fact that players have decided they don’t want to play for kwood again says more about the people still at the club than him Grown men have seen the way he and staff we’re treated and have decided to walk with the staff I am a parent of 1 of said players and I’m behind my boy Goodluck to you and your club going forward but please stop spreading lies on social media Best regards

Tinsel
Knightswood made a fist of it today considering team was put together in 6 days couldn't be more proud of them we deservedly went in 2-0 up at half time could have been 3 with a great chance at the end of half. We knew that Glenvale would come at us from start of 2nd half they scored right away making it 2-1 we then had man sent off for second bookable offense right at begining of 2nd half.we were down to 10 men and lost 2 quick goals which made it 3-2 to Glenvale tbh we settled as half went on and still felt we could score and we we're still competitive in what was an excellent game, well contested we eventually started to get leggy but where still competing when Glenvale scored 4th final score 4-2. Good luck to Glenvale in their Quest for promotion and thank you for words of support after game Nice message from Glenvale Replying to @KWosfl9673 Well done to Knightswood today, battled really well. Coaching staff a class act too, all the best for the rest of the season. Edited March 23 by Tinsel

And what a swing from 0-2 (39min & 42min) at HT to 3-2 in a 7-minute spell ! 47min 1-2 52min second yellow for Knightswood's number 14. 53min 2-2 54min 3-2 and then 4-2 on 79. I was told by a Glenvale club official that the works at Ferguslie Park (changing rooms building improvement) will take until August.

Knightswood football club then received notification from 7 of the players that their intention would be to play with Dumbarton Accies FP in the Caledonian league. ... from the outside looking in its seems a mess. Especially the above statement of "fact". No inside knowledge, But find it highly unlikely that the Academy FP (or for that matter St Pats FP - who would have more of a player and mgmt link to Knighstwood) would be involved in any of this. They are one of the best run Amateur teams, why would they take WOSFL players en-masse at this stage of the season and impact the existing squad for a short term benefit? Sounds more like Chinese whispers or a threat than fact. For balance, I've watched from afar Mr Marsland mgmt career from the very beginning. Starting at "fun" fours with an Argyll FC team of 8 year olds. He used to berate that team something awful, removing all of the fun and was a joystick manager. Even then it was about him and not the boys. Think that carried on through the youth set up at Knighstwood, but always building successful teams. Obviously as you get to adult teams that's what its all about, but its always been success at a cost in the end. Hope both teams come out of it stronger next season, for the players sake.

Ammylad
Tight at the top, few points here and there could decide promotion, extra 3 points for lugar and giffnock would be massive for them…. Glenvale seem to be the class act
