Although some of the conclusions that Hancock jumps to take things to far (and he is very much look a "look at me" type), the general premise that there was probably an advanced civilisation during the ice age is not that far fetched. Given today the vast majority of people either live in a town or city thats on the coast, or on a river the same was probably true 10,000 years ago. if your coast then is now 100 ft underwater we wont have excavated it

The problem here is “advanced”. Advanced for the time, OK…advanced in a context of thousands of years of knowledge/attainment, I doubt it. Any civilization destroyed via a natural disaster tends to leaves evident well afield..travelers who survive and possess knowledge, trade goods, and so forth.
