Get a life, what did you want another trip to Motherwell.

MCT accounts division has just popped the champers.

They better blockade themselves on Monday or Dougie will steal their sweeties.

Go get them boy and let's focus on 2023/24 Championship race.

Fir Park for the fourth time in five seasons is the one thing would possibly have been worse, yes.

I wanted the most winnable tie possible, which Rangers away is not. No guarantee you get through those ties of course, but even if you want to reduce it to a financial argument then a more favourable draw and getting far into the competition also makes you more money than getting a trip to Parkhead or Ibrox as soon as they enter the tournament.

All of which is true of course but as always the 'if' factor is the problem.

Would love to think Viaplay will put the romance of the cup before market forces and televise our game vs Aberdeen, but its bound to be Killie v Celtic, isn't it? Yawn.

Apart from anything else, Forthbank is one of the few grounds in Scotland never to have had a live broadcast, so would be nice if that could be rectified.

In any sane country Kilmarnock v Celtic and Stirling v Aberdeen are the TV picks. We all know they'll be at Ibrox though

I'm not sure what biased view makes you think that Stirling v Aberdeen will be more of a contest or more attractive to watch than Rangers v the Mighty Morton.

Will there be segregation at the Hearts v Thistle game or will they sit holding hands waving that minter flag?

Expecting that flag to be carried out onto the pitch by both teams.

Certain Morton fans celebrating getting the bigots away is because of the money is everything that's wrong with football now, the priority should always be progress as far as possible in the cup.

Actually old firm games are very rarely covered live at home (the exception being the rangers v celtic derby). One of the reasons being ground capacity and presumably significantly less people are likely to pay to see a game live than somewhere where the OF are likely to only get 5000 tickets.

On that basis the Killie Celtic game must be the banker - but its Viaplay so it could just as easily be St Mirren v Motherwell.

I'm not sure many of us are celebrating, but as a community owned club with aspirations to get into the Premier League the additional funds could make a huge difference to our chances by funding a couple of players. Of course progress in the Cup would  be preferable and is still possible.

The correlation between how much money a club can raise and how successful they are is not absolute but generally applies.

You’re thinking about league games, where outside the OF derby it is very rare to see either one of them televised in a home game. This doesn’t really apply to the Cups, though, and especially not with these Viaplay & Premier Sports type outfits who have made it quite clear that the only thing they care about in our domestic game is showing Celtic or Rangers, regardless of who or where they’re playing.

Viaplay’s two picks will almost certainly be Killie v Celtic and Rangers v Morton.
