Hibs v Rovers

Not the last goal we're going to lose this season coming right into the six yard box like that. For everything Dabrowski gives, he doesn't look comfortable at all when the ball's coming in on top of him. He did well with the one before it, and another one just there, but he'll be continually targeted by the opposition.

Unfair, as he had to flatten a Hibbie to even get off his line on that corner.

Happy to be proved wrong, but without Brown I'm not sure how we get control of the ball to get it to all these forwards we've now got on.

Brown still isn’t fully match fit, may play into the decision.

As a generic “game”, a pretty game of football with both sides reasonably well matched and battling it out. That says things about both sides, given we’re a league lower. Hibs seemed to just melt away after the first fifteen of the first half, but the halftime brought a new push. Certainly looked vulnerable on the counter, but there’s a nasty amount of quality and speed up front. Marshall’s reaction save of Vaughan was impressive and led directly to the first goal, so without that, it might have been interesting to see how it played out.

Looked like Marshall got to it, heard no one suggest otherwise, so that spins it differently. The cross was tipped slightly so it was falling more out front of Lewis, which is why I thought the keeper got to it. If it was poked off the post (that was right in front of the Rovers fans, eh?) that could be due to stretching or just a poor shot…could you tell?

Brown and Byrne coming off absolutely ruined it for us. Newell did really well for Hibs when he was subbed on. Very much a case of fine margins. I didn't even catch much of the second goal but it looked like a nuke. Every reason to be optimistic going forward.

All the best to Hibs in the rest of the competition. There was a great degree of respect by them playing such a strong team.
