We’re only being true to their song.

"Lord grant that Marshal Wade, May by thy mighty aid, Victory bring. May he sedition hush, And like a torrent rush, Rebellious Scots to crush, God Save the King."

f**k them and f**k their shite anthem.

You realise that this verse was removed hundreds of years ago, and that the "rebellious Scots" that are to be crushed is a specific group of Scots? The Jacobite rebels under Bonnie Prince Charlie - who were defeated at Culloden by large numbers of other Scots (who might have wished that Marshall Wade had done the job for them in the North of England).

Not it wasnt.  Its still in the official national anthem.

Just because they dont sing all the verses doesnt mean its not there.  It was reviewed in 2010 or somesuch but no changes were made.

I'm not attending tonight's match but I'd just like to say that were I in attendance, I would be BOOOOOO-ing in the strongest possible terms.

One, because f**k their stupid monarchy, and two, because each time Piers Morgan blood pressure spikes is one closer to a better world.

Okay, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they're asking for the Jacobites to be crushed. Not ALL Scots.

As far as I’m aware, it’s the only anthem we boo.

England fans do it on a regular basis.

f**k them, it’s a rivalry, nothing sinister in it.

Certainly the Irish anthem got roundly booed last year.

That's astounding. Hadn't realised it was still there.

Had they said "rebellious Jacobites" - whilst less lyrically sound, would dodge the bullet.

"Rebellious Scots" = rebelling Scots. They didn't specifically say "but only the Jacobites, lads" - they just gave an example, which happened to be the Jacobites. :)

f**k them regardless.
