We are waaaaay behind these sides. Qualifying for tournaments is our silverware.

Who are "these sides"? England, France then maybe Croatia and Portugal look the best European sides at the moment but Spain are in transition and we've beaten them already, Germany have just sacked their manager, The Netherlands and Belgium blow hot and cold, Russia are banned, etc.

This could be the wake up call we needed to realise we aren't as good as we think we are.

Best learning it now before the final few qualifiers.

Yes I'm delusional

I reckon Georgia losing tonight might be enough for us tbh. Only Norway can catch us now, and they'd need to beat a Spanish side that have score 13 in their last 2 games, and might need the win to have a chance to top the group, to have any chance at doing so.

Away. England are one of the 2/3 best sides in Europe and top 5 in the world. There's room between "qualifying is our silverware" and being as good as England are at the moment.

Getting out of a finals group where 3 from 4 can is our silverware

Yeah, he was saying that Southgate should really be finding a way to play both but if he was insisting on just one, it should be Maddison.

He didn’t really say that though. He said Maddison is much better as a ‘10’ and Bellingham should still be playing in a deeper role he refereed to it being an ‘8’ in modern terms.

still absolute nonsense from him though.

The facts are, England are Scotland's OF equivalent. We, the diddies, need them to be off their game and we need to be at our very, very best with absolutely no one off it. Tonight was the standard OF win against the diddies.

The resources they have dwarves ours and it'll never be a level playing field.

It's certainly not a disgrace even if it feels like the ultimate kick in the stones.

Did he not say he'd play Bellingham deeper and Maddison behind Kane?

Yeah, he said he'd have both in the team and that Southgate frustrates him because he seems to put the 'handbrake' on England but that Maddison would have started for him if only one tonight.
