That’s what I wrote yes however you seem to be desperate for an explanation.

The Bernado one he doesn’t really go in on Goldson, feet aren’t high or does he make any contact with his foot. It’s a collision of legs similar to the one on Taylor at the end of the game which Sterling wasn’t booked for. As for Johnston again no as to me it looked as if Johnston was up first and Sima then jumped in from his blind side so would be disappointed if either of those were given as yellows especially since Sterling never got a yellow for either elbowing O’Riley in the face and the aforementioned foul on Taylor so the referee appears to be somewhat consistent and I’m ok with that.

As someone else said not every foul deserves a yellow card and if you want them for every challenge in a derby game then that’s just daft

Also known as deflection

I’m sorry but the Bernardo tackle is as clear as a second yellow as you are likely to see. And you’ve described Sima getting an elbow to the head as “Sima jumping in from Johnstones blind side”. You’re no real man.

So do you think a penalty should have been awarded?

Tbh it should have been sent back to the ref to check, and at the same time VAR checks back for the offside

Fact collum thought the arm was in a natural position is a typical collum call, he's been doing this to every single team for years and is just incompetent

He got lucky sima was offside according to the lines,

Again though this one incident shouldn't be the deciding factor, we missed chances, you missed chances, just missed one less than we did

Exact same chances in another game and we could easily win 2-1, as i posted above, total fine margins and the fact the teams are so close means the league will have lots of twists still to come

Then Sterling has to be given a second yellow too for his tackle on Taylor, to suggest otherwise based on what you said merits a yellow card would be utterly disingenuous.

So why aren’t you calling that out as one of the referees “mistakes”?

Ultimately the correct decision is still given because even if Collum thought it was handball then the attacking phase has to be checked which would have highlighted Sima as offside anyway

End result is no penalty

An attacker being in an offside position does not mean the defender can commit a foul and not concede a penalty (see Harry Kane v Germany in Nations League for an example).

However...

Here's Law 11

In situations where:

a player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12

a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence

an offence is committed against a player in an offside position who is already playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the offside offence is penalised as it has occurred before the foul challenge

I've highlighted in bold the bits that I think are probably relevant for it to, ultimately, be offside but once again we have pundits completely failing to understand and clearly communicate the Laws of the game to the viewers.

That said, its absolutely wild that the initial VAR review did not conclude that a handball offence occurred to.

Mate, the teams would be even closer if you didn’t have Dessers in yours.

Tbf our injury list is that fucking chronic the now that its either dessers or someone from the copland front

So killie on Tuesday we'll have a ST seat untaken as the wee guy from the copland starts up front

We were originally told that the penalty was refused because it was offside, despite that obviously not being the case.

Rangers request the VAR audio.

Then we're told that Collum thought it wasn't a clear and obvious error from Walsh.

They can't even keep their story straight.

You're last paragraph sums collum up, he's an absolutely abysmal official who was absolutely abysmal year ago and yet still gets gigs

If VAR today told the ref to go check the handball, and while ref checks it they go further back and see the offside, tell the ref theres a potential offside and its the refs call wether the handball is before or after the offside essentially begins (fucking offside rules are a shambles), we'd be praising VAR to the hilt as its done the job its told to

However with a clown like collum on it, who the f**k knows whats gonna happen
