rainbowrising
It's a red. Studs up in the heid at a fair height. Even the Ref, when he gave a yellow, moved very quickly at the incident. He knew something not good happened there and VAR confirmed it. Oh well.

Yellow. And I’m sure there are millions of such examples. Did you think it should have been a red at the time or were you happy it was a yellow?
LuboMoravcik
It's a clear red card, despite it being unintentional.
Ginaro
"What's he supposed to do" says Sutton - maybe not go studs up into the head of the goalkeeper at chest height? The player must know there's a chance of making contact even if you do get the ball. Sutton calls for action surrounding head injuries and concussion, well this is the sort of thing that should be a red card as it's quite obviously serious foul play (endangering the safety of an opponent). Red cards are needed here so that players think twice about their actions, as we've seen in rugby with the protocols on head contact and tackle heights. This would be a red card in rugby - head contact, foul play, high degree of danger, no mitigation - and should be in football as well.

If he hit the ball and put it in the back of the net and didn’t kick the keeper in the face you would be at 1-2 with 11 men on the park.

From the times Ive seen, they have tended to have Boyd as the pro-Rangers pundit. They'll then have a pro-Celtic one (in this case Brown, has been Lennon and Petrov recently). McFadden tends to get papped in the middle as a "neutral", despite everyone knowing his allegiance. Very rarely do they try bringing someone in with history/knowledge of the old firm's opposition unless its Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen.
