Rangers visit Easter Road, Tomorrow

Well, that was pish.

Glad we have a tidal wave of cash coming in........we need players in pretty much all positions.

But that defence, jeez it was truly horrific.

Only positive in the entire match was watching the oddballs in the away end furiously putting out the fires those flares started on their jackets😂

Watched most of that. f**k me, Hibs are so naive. The gaps they leave, playing a midfield that lightweight, the refusal to switch from that formation,  all of it. Just so much that could be quickly improved but isn't.

Very scrappy opening to the game, thought both Raskin and Cantwell were miles off it but we did seem to settle once we got ahead.

A really brilliant chip through from Lundstram to set up Ridvan for the first and the second goal right before half time killed it.

Butland impressive as usual with a couple of important saves and Dessers took his goal very well.

Hibs somehow look worse than under Johnson

Tbf Butland pulled off a few great saves last night, when Hibs had possession they were quick to counter attack and tried to play fitba.

Pumped as expected. Monty is certainly more likeable than his predecessor but results wise not much has changed. Hopefully we see an upturn with these new signings coming into the side. The fact that we’ve not strengthened that defence yet is laughable.

As mentioned above by @bennettI think Hibs try and play well and are maybe not far off it all coming together.

There is obviously a clear philosophy of trying to play it out from the back and beat the press, but I think you need a more competent passer as a goalkeeper for it. That being said, when it works (and it did on a few occasions last night) you do end up with a decent overload in midfield.

I thought second half Marcondes took up some great positions to offer himself to collect the ball but was often overlooked, but on the few occasions he did receive it, he got you right up the park.

As you mention, a good couple of additions defensively with players that are comfortable with the ball under pressure will see that improve a lot.

Give it time. He's only just been signed the other day and has had at the very most one single training run with the team. A few sessions at East Mains to show him the ropes and he'll be drilled into being an ineffectual shitebag like the rest of the team.

Under Johnson, we had attacking threats alongside a shite defence and lightweight midfield.

Montgomery has - incredibly - blunted our attacking threat and we still have the other issues !

He had a couple, but Hibs look less like scoring now than when Montgomery came in, despite clearly having a load of decent forward players.  Probably cause he insists on having a midfield 2 with 2 wingers that means they don't control enough of a game to make many chances

Quite enjoyed Monto's radio interview last night (other than finding his manner of speaking quite annoying).

When asked (paraphrasing) "Are you getting any new defenders in, because any fool can see that's where Hibs have been really weak for literally years now?" his response was "Rocky Bushiri will be back from the AFCON soon, and Paul Hanlon isn't far away from coming back after his illness, so they'll be available."

😅 never change, Hibs.

You have to think, maybe it’s not the managers. Maybe it’s the players. Certain players have been here since the days of Heckingbottom and shouldn’t be here now.

Noone will ever convince me that Newell is not part of the problem.

Totally unrelated, but after watching the neanderthals in the away end last night sing their usual bile, I wonder if catholic players walking off whenever the blatant anti catholic songs are sung would change things. The governing bodies and clubs are clearly too weak/incompetent to do anything.
