How long have Bonnyrigg got, and why not give Buckie and EK and anyone else the same length of time? You're having a mare here and I don't know why. Buckie have clearly made no attempt to gain their license or even have dialogue with the authorities to see how they can work towards it. I know nothing of EK but Bonnyrigg have been making ground improvements since they came up, I assume to meet these requirements. You say these clubs haven't met deadlines but you've no idea what deadlines or dialogue they've had. It's clear given this decision that Buckie have done f**k all and now want everyone to point the finger at the league, when it's their own wee bumpkin club that has embarrassed itself. May Rckinnon
If this proves anything, it's that the Scottish footballing pyramid is a farce. Quite laughable too that this notion that the HL clubs should want into the dumpster fire that is the SPFL. They were quite happy before 14/15. The balls on buckie if they've deliberately rubbered the authorities on this. They'll be more than happy enough with their league title. The LL can get in the bin, the entire purpose of it is to facilitate B teams and fast track chicken man types.

You have taken the SFA statement verbatim, lets see what Buckie say. The point remains four SPFL clubs do not have a Bronze Licence and are getting an unknown period of time to comply whilst others aren't. It's protectionism in plain sight but at least EK are still in there to hopefully pump another one into the LL. Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Scrap the pyramid. The thought of a good, honest league club like Stranraer losing their league status to a vanity project/glorified sports club and B team voter who have cruised into the final because some diddy, teuchter mob prefer being a big fish in a small pond is sickening. Close the door.

It isn’t unknown though. They have until 1 July, unless they specifically applied for an extra grace period - an option which was very clearly open to Buckie as well. https://spfl.co.uk/admin/filemanager/images/shares/pdfs/Membership Criteria Letter 2024-25 31 October 2023.pdf

Close the door. Couldn't agree more. Apart from cove & brechin, nobody in the HL has shown any real interest in moving up. That's absolutely up to them btw, if they're comfortable where they are, good for them. Even further down the pyramid you've got the farce that is Strathspey safe until fort william win their league (which looks a while off yet). Even though thistle are absolutely honking.
Dunning1874
30 minutes ago, Jacksgranda said: Aye, but they're in the SPFL, bronze level is now required to gain entry to the SPFL. There is a point to be made there, aside from whatever incompetence Buckie have been guilty of in not getting the licence sorted or failing that applying for a grace period. The previous cut off level where a bronze licence was required before it was extended to the whole SPFL was the Championship. Cove were in it last season with an entry licence and Airdrie are in it now with an entry licence. Did these clubs apply for a grace period to achieve their bronze licence prior to 31 March in the seasons they won promotion, or were they just granted it without asking? If it's the latter I think it's reasonable to point out the double standard here, regardless of a) that not being an excuse for Buckie and b) everyone who is entry level needing to have applied for a grace period by 31 March 2024 if they want to remain in the SPFL in 2024/25.

Very good point in Airdrie's case. If they're still Entry, can they take part in the Premiership play-offs? if so, why?

The same guy who proposed this rule change also said this; https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/call-for-relegation-from-league-two-to-be-suspended-2517037 It's a lot more common than you think for clubs to fall short of license requirements and be given a period of time to resolve it. Dumbarton had issues with their floodlights not being of the required standard and got a pass for it for years because the owners were planning on moving the club. As soon as the plans to move the club died we had to invest in the floodlights. The point here is that clubs need to at the very least have dialogue with the league and I would imagine more often than not a reasonable compromise is sought, as evidenced by the number of clubs you are crying about not meeting requirements. Buckie can say what they like, they've fucked this for themselves and embarrassed the HL.
May Rckinnon
The most ridiculous part of all of this is that we're talking about licenses etc. who cares? Just comes across like those in charge behaving like mutton dressed as lamb.
