Are there many new clubs in the Highlands Amateur Leagues in 2024?

I see Mallards FC (where are they?). Haven't checked for more yet.

The Mallard is the pub at the station in Dingwall. Stratton Wanderers were Balloan.

When I was a lad, it was the Station “refreshment rooms”, aka “the Station” or “the Refresh”. It was licensed, at a time when there were only four proper pubs in town, and it was popular with under-age drinkers. Allegedly.

God knows why it was renamed the Mallard, after a locomotive that never came anywhere near Dingwall AFAIK.

Tempted to do a photography project and pick a game in the Preliminary round then follow the winners going forward.

Loch Ness haven't put up an amateur team this summer, not sure if they have any connection with Gellions FC though, where they originated.

I think they have, there's a Loch Ness playing in the Inverness leagues and in the first round of the cup (unless is a different team with the same name)

I was sure I'd read that they weren't running a ammy team this year but I can't find anything now, no idea where I got it from. From the Inverness and District fixture list, it looks possible that they've merged with Balloan, but I've likely got the wrong end of the stick there too..:1eye

I thought Balloan had become Stratton Wanderers, but I might be wrong
